4.3 Preview: The Dragon Soul Raid And Transmogrification Rules
The Dragon Soul Raid
World of Warcraft patch 4.3 will offer players the opportunity to take the fight to Wyrmrest Temple and beyond, assisting Thrall and the Dragon Aspects as they seek to bring an end to the Black Dragonflight once and for all. 10- and 25-person raids will get to take on Deathwing himself, with three levels of difficulty to consider and epic gear to claim.
Forged by Deathwing during the War of the Ancients, the Dragon Soul harnessed the power of the other dragonflights, until it was ultimately destroyed. After recovering a version of the artifact from the Caverns of Time, Thrall and the allied dragonflights now rally at Wyrmrest Temple in a desperate bid to use its might to defeat Deathwing.
Created by the titans as a sanctuary for all Dragonkind, the crumbling Wyrmrest Temple is now the final hope for the forces allied against the black dragon Neltharion, once the Earth-Warder and protector of Azeroth, now Deathwing the Destroyer. It is here that the remaining aspects -- Alexstrasza, Ysera, Nozdormu, Kalecgos, and Thrall -- have gathered to empower the Dragon Soul -- Azeroth's last chance to stop the great behemoth. As

Hour of Twilight
The final stage in this series of dungeons is set in the present-day Dragonblight, now under a full invasion by the Twilight's Hammer. Players must escort Thrall and the Dragon Soul safely to Wyrmrest Temple, where the assault on Deathwing is to commence. But the Twilight's Hammer forces are numerous, and their leadership remains strong. Those attacking the temple are commanded by a man known very well for the strength of will he's offered Alliance citizens. Now with his own will broken, he preaches only Deathwing's cataclysmic vision for all life on Azeroth.

Ten thousand years in the past, the night elven capital city of Zin-Azshari was a magnificent, sparkling metropolis. Situated on the shores of the Well of Eternity, Zin-Azshari was where the aristocratic Highborne first opened a portal into the Twisting Nether and invited the Burning Legion to invade Azeroth. Under the command of the night elven queen, Azshara, the Highborne now pour their energies into the portal, preparing it for the terrifying and glorious entrance of the titan Sargeras.

Cho'gall, once a key executor of the nihilistic Twilight's Hammer's vision, has been struck down. Lady Sinestra, consort of Deathwing and mother to the malevolent black dragons Nefarian and Onyxia, has fallen at the hands of great heroes. Ragnaros, lord of the realm of fire in the Elemental Plane, and Al’Akir, baron of the realm of air -- both mighty arbiters of Deathwing's destructive ends -- have themselves been purged. But even with so many of Deathwing's servants now vanquished, he freely roams the skies of Azeroth, wreaking havoc on the land and its people. It's in these darkest of hours that the forces standing against Deathwing must carry out a desperate plan to put an end to his devastating twilight flight.
The other Dragon Aspects, with allegiance from Thrall, have devised a dangerous and unorthodox strategy to bring Deathwing down once and for all. But to do so, they must acquire the Dragon Soul from a pivotal moment in the distant past... and they're going to need your help. In patch 4.3, level-85 players will gain access to three new Heroic-difficulty five-player dungeons, embarking on quests to aid the Aspects and other familiar faces in a

Tom Chilton Explains 4.3's 5-mans: Endtime, Well of Eternity, and Hour of Twilight
The NDA for interviews with Blizzard was lifted at midnight tonight PST and interviews are cropping up everywhere about 4.3 and the Deathwing encounter. The first one is
Joystiq's interview with Tom Chilton
. While it tells us a lot of old information, in particular stuff about transmogrification and void storage, it also tells us a lot of new information.
Like, you know, the three 5-mans and what their stories will be. And exactly how Deathwing's fight will unfold.
According to Chilton, Deathwing is a different sort of boss. " doesn't just kind of sit around....He doesn't have a throne to chill on, just waiting for people to show up and throw down the gauntlet." Instead, players must come to him and chase him; first through the three 5-mans, then later through the 10/25-man raid instance itself.
The first instance is called "Endtime"
and it sends players into the future to see what Deathwing's victory means."And so you go into this grim vision of the future," says Chilton, "and essentially demonstrate to Nozdormu that this is what's going to happen if you don't send us back to the Well of Ete

Timelord Regalia
It’s fun to put a spin on any caster class that moves it away from the usual wizardly archetype, and this set provided the perfect opportunity to do just that. Gnomish clockwork technology is an established part of the Warcraft universe, but it’s not something we’ve incorporated into a tier of player armor before. The combination of moving cogs, quilted fabric, and lots of buckled straps give the set an intriguing "techno-mage" flavor.

The best shaman sets are a mix of the animal and the elemental. This tier combines huge wolf-skull shoulder pads, bone fetishes, and fur with glowing shards of amber crystal. The entire set is lashed together with lengths of rope and heavily stitched leather, which lends the set a savage bearing.

4.3's Legendary Will be a Dagger for Rogues
The Escapist just posted
a huge interview with Blizzard
, explaining 4.3's bigger assets. It's worth reading--as it explains features we've head a lot about before, but the most interesting aspect was the discussion and confirmation of the legendary. It will be for rogues and it will be a dagger.
Other tidbits:
The LFR tool will be an easier difficulty, used just for the tool.
The Dragonflight are going to be uniting together to fight Deathwing.
The 5-mans will be more involved with the story than the WotLK 5-mans were.
Players will get unique achievements in the LFR--in other words, you can't form achievement groups in LFR.
J. Allen Brack, Lead Producer of World of Warcraft
: There's one more piece which is an announcement that we're releasing a rogue legendary weapon. Specific for rogues, so it will be a dagger. There will be some sort of quest, traditionally we've done these

Deep Earth Vestments
The design called for "phosphorescent mushrooms, reminiscent of Zangarmarsh," so our main concern was avoiding making a helm that looked like a giant toadstool sombrero. We’re always looking to incorporate interesting light sources within a raid set, and bioluminescent vegetable growth certainly provides that. Twisting, organic shapes are often key elements of a druid set, and this tier is no exception, with writhing plant roots providing a frame for the glowing clusters of fungi.

Warlock – Faceless Shroud
A set with the flavor of the Old Gods about it - General Vezax from the Ulduar raid was a reference point. Any warlock tier is a great opportunity to bring a dark and warped aesthetic to player gear and this set was especially ripe for the treatment.
Replacing the caster’s face with writhing tentacles was the ‘hook’ I started the concept with and built out from there. We always try to include numerous points of illumination into a tier set as it helps to tie the various armour pieces together – whether that be glowing gemstones, fiery runes or, as in this case, bulging othe

Patch 4.3 Preview: Worgen Racial Mounts
Mount-collectors rejoice: there's new Worgen racial mounts in 4.3!
For months, players have complained how it was unfair that Alliance mount-collectors had nothing to collect from Worgen quartermasters--especially next to the snazzy Horde
Ключ от гоблинского турботрицикла
. Well, it seems Blizzard has listened to player feedback. The new mounts resemble the old unarmored mounts from vanilla--a nice touch next to the current heavily-armored mounts seen everywhere.
We're not going to make it very far without transportation, are we? If we just hightail it out of here, the forsaken will catch up to us in no time at all.
Rounding up some horses from the stable grounds southeast of here would normally be a breeze, but there's one snag. That last quake must've spooked Koroth, the ettin, down from the mountains. If we don't get our horses soon, I fear that he will.
In patch 4.3, we’ll be introducing worgen racial mounts to the stables of Azeroth. These sleek horses have been constant companions for the denizens of Gilneas since time immemorial, and your worgen characters will now be able to claim their ancestral mounts.

News Round Up: Diablo III Community Site, Model Updates, and More
There were some blue posts last week and today that mostly dealt with the onslaught of questions about transmogrification, the Darkmoon Faire, and model updates. Yes, model updates--with everything else being revamped, including the long sought after armor customization, a lot of people have been pretty curious about the prospect of new models coming someday.
Highlights from today's news round up:
Replica items may mean that items from DMF may just be art skins, rather than the original gear--so it may be impossible to tell replicas from the real thing.
Death Knights will get their stater gear back, probably set up in Archerus, so non-DKs can't steal their unique armor!

Patch 4.3: Darkmoon Faire
The Darkmoon Faire makes its return in 4.3 and one thing is for sure: it's finally getting the awesome revamp it deserved.
Shrouded in mist, sequestered away on its own island, the Faire returns with aplomb with mounts, vanity pets, and everything else you'd expect from a redone faction. From Tonk Battle Royale to Whack-a-Gnoll, it's got a few games up its sleeves like any good carnival should have as well. Some of the bigger changes also include:
Players will be able to work behind the scenes to earn skill points, up to five per week, to their professions of choice through quests.
Inspired by the Gurubashi arena, there will be deathmatches for prizes every three hours.
A new item, Darkmoon Artifacts will drop from battlegrounds, dungeons, and so on and will allow players to turn them in for rewards.
New heirlooms will be added through the Faire.
Most importantly, the Darkmoon Faire will bring back long-lost armor sets for transmogrification!

News Round Up: Transmogrification Clarifications, Void Storage Updates, and More
We have a lot of random posts for transmogrification lurking about from this week and last.
It's probably easiest to simply sum them up:
Heirlooms will be eligible targets for Transmogrification--you won't have to look bad while leveling up!
Mainhand can only be applied to mainhand and offhand only to offhand.
The jury is still out on "silly" items. They are debating whether or not you can use fun offhands like frying pans, fish, and so on.
While not planned for day one, greys and whites might eventually be an option. The wording used by the Community Manager implies it's not set in stone either way.
There was also a clarification about void storage (no, those prices are not set in stone) and a good PvP post session with Zarhym covering everything from twinks to deleting warlocks from the game forever. Oh, don't worry--he was kidding.
On Transmogrification
That's still under discussion at the moment. Right now, Legendary weapons and Heirlooms probably won't be eligible, while some Bind on Account items probably will be eligible. It's not set in stone yet though.

Transmogrification, Part 2: Unique Items and More Tier
Last guide covered the
basics of Transmogrification
(shorted by the blues to Mogging) and class-specific tier sets, but what if you want something a little more creative? In this guide, I'll provide an overview of Void Storage as well as cover distinctive weapons, some unique items, and armor sets that do not have class restrictions.
There are several types of items that cannot be transmogged (and we've created an item filter for this):
Legendaries: a blue post clarified they can't be used :(
Stat-less gear: no starter, holiday, or vendor-bought gear. (How cool would it be to have a tank in a level 1 shield?)
Armor/weapon disguises that don't use the accepted type for a class: DKs as rogues, hunters as warlocks, casters wielding large axes, etc.
Silly items: gear in the shapes of fish, flowers, or frying pans.
Even with these restrictions, there should be enough to keep you busy collecting!
We've updated this guide in 4.3 to include transmog set links and image mouseovers for item sets in the last table.
