I saw in the blizzard post that the final quest in dragonflight is a pre-req for this. Does anyone know if I need to catch my alts up and complete the dragonflight questline to do this or is it only the harbinger questline?

If u dont recieve the war within quest, u need to complete hunt of the harbringer first.

When I used the scroll to get to Jaina I was in the wrong time line. Had to talk to Zidormi to change timelines (approx 78 22)

If after using the Teleportation Scroll you get relocated under the zone and keep disconnecting, use the "unstuck feature" by visiting:

So I am completely lost. I started collecting memories kalimador and Northrend and now I cannot get back to turn in residual memories. I check the quest log and all it says is chapter 0/1 for visions of Azeroth. Is this as far as I can go on pre-patch? I only purchased the basic War Within so is it because I am so cheap lol? Not sure what to do now. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

If you abandon this quest in order to do The Harbinger quest line (can't see NPCs to do Harbinger if you have both quests in your log), once you're done with Harbinger leave Dalaran (edit: to your main city, i.e. Stormwind or Orgrimmar) & the Radiant Echoes quest will pop-up for auto accept (breadcrumb quest for Memories of Adventures Past). Then, go to Silithus for A Poor Reception to pickup where this questline dropped.

You can skip the intro quest and skip the Harbringer quest on Alts if you completed them once on your main.

1. Open your Adventure Guide (default bound to Shift + J).
2. Click the tab for Suggested Content
3. Click "Accept Quest" for The War Within. (Might have to use left/right arrows if the quest is not the first one.)
3. Use the Teleporation Scroll. (If you don't see Jaina, follow the other tip in the comments about Zidormi.)
4. Turn in the Quest.
5. Accept the next Quest Jaina offers.
5. Click the "I have heard this tale before" to Skip the Dalaran Introduction and travel to Dornogal.
6. It will teleport you to Dornogal.

I tested this on multiple newly 70 Timewalking characters that had not done a single other quest.

Right now Jaina is disappearing upon arrival in the area for a lot of people, due to some sort of phasing issue. The thing that solved this for me was going to Zidormi, having her send me to the past Silithus, then return to the present Silithus, then use the teleport scroll to go back to Jaina's location and she stuck around this time long enough to interact with. If you don't have the teleport scroll you should be able to pick The War Within back up from the adventurer's journal and that'll give you the scroll back.

Found a trick that works every time for those experiencing the bug.

Accept the quest, teleport to Silithus. It freezes you, the NPCs disappear.

As was mentioned previously, head to "Valor's Rest" and speak to Zidormi. On your way to Valor's Rest, BEFORE you speak to Zidormi, open your Adventure Guide, the quest "The War Within" will be there. Accept it. Now, change timelines to before the events. Then, switch back to the current time line. Use the scroll to teleport back again. You will not be frozen again, and the NPC will appear and talk to you now.

I has had a 100% success rate for all my alts stuck in the the time frame.

Although wowhead says this requires level 70, it came up for me at level 68 as an alt. May require a relog if you don’t get it immediately.
