This quest had a buggy interaction with my mount. I had to abandon it, pick it up again, and take Durzan up the hill without mounting to be able to complete it. He wouldn't run up the log to his brother otherwise.

Buggy as of launch day - here's how I fixed it

1. Abandon quest
2. Pick quest back up
3. Follow guy up to the top of the hill
4. Kite the adds away from the rocks on the right
4. Complete quest

The last fight up the hill can bug the quest in a way that Durzan does not move anymore.
Had to abandon and restart the quest. Then did the following steps:

Flew up the hill on my own, leaving Durzan behind
Did both fights without Durzan
Flew down the hill to where I left Durzan
Picked up Durzan and flew up one more time alongside him.

Without any fight, he did not bug out.

I abandoned it 3 times and it just wouldn't take no matter how close I dragged the fight to the log. So, I logged out at the top of the mountain and when I came back on Durzan was back down at the ranch. I went back to him, rode up next to him on my mount (though I don't think that matters at all) and he went right to the log and reunited. There were no respawn of the nerubians on the way though he did stop and wait for me to kill a Shalemaw that attacked us on the way up before he would start running again. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the comments. I had to try it a couple different ways, but got it to work. I killed the final group at the top while leaving Durzan at the bottom of the hill. Flew back down to him, led him up the hill in my druid flight form, killed the first group (the second had already been killed by me and another who was doing the quest separately), then when Durzan got to the top he just went straight up to meet his friend since the final group was already killed.

Wait... you mean it's an escort quest, but I'm the one being escorted? That's awesome!

And as a skinner, I'm taking my time to attack and skin the critters on the way, wasting his time like so many other escort quests in the past <3

If you look up at the top of the mountain when Durzan jumps up to join Belzt, you can actually watch a translucent form of both knock their horns together to start the storm.

Description

Durzan looks hale and hearty again. That moss packs a real punch. I have a sense that he's ready to go. I just wish we had more time. I have so many questions. But the greatest of those questions will be answered when he reaches the peak. We shouldn't send him up there alone. But I think he trusts you to take him.
