The Head of the Snake gives you a choice between two item relics (plus gold and experience). The name of the two relics depend on your class and spec, and the details of the relics depend on your class, spec and level. If you want different choices of rewards, change your spec before choosing your reward. Just changing your loot specialization doesn't seem to make a difference. The item level of the relic, and thus the number of item levels the relic grants, is based on your level when you hand in the quest. I handed in at level 107, so the item level of the relic was 773, and its tooltip text said "+21 Item Levels". As a feral druid, the tooltip for the Blood of the Snake said "increase damage dealt by Rip by 7%", and the Myzrael Shard said "increases critical strike chance done by Ferocious Bite by 7%". When I changed to guardian (tanking) spec, Blood of the Snake said "Ironfur increases armor by an additional 4%" and Myzrael Shard said "Increases the critical strike chance of Maul by 3%".

For artifact upgrade choice, you MUST change your loot specialization preference before you speak to the NPC and select your reward. Cancel the dialog box, reselect your loot preference (by right clicking on your name plate). Respeccing, relogging, has no effect, I learned. I switched the preference, and the reward that was offered me was appropriate for the artifact I was trying to level.

When you approach Athissa, make sure to stay away from Parjesh. Before the fight began, Athissa stunned me within reach of Parjesh, and he basically eviscerated me before the fight began (I went in at about 25% HP). It was not a fun experience.

As mage, I threw a fireball at her and I was stunned. My concern was the elite standing next to her. I was hoping he wasn't going to be involved in the fight. He ran off right before the battle with Athissa started. Athissa tosses out some stun bubbles you should try to avoid.
Add: I just did this with my rogue and the elite did not attack me, he ran off. Just in case you all were wondering what kind of fight it will be.

Athissa and Parjesh located at 62.6 41.2 spoint and finally you can defeat her. Parjesh will run off and further can be found and killed in Eye of Azshara instance. So, make you revenge and you will finish Azsuna versus Azshara part of Azsuna Matata achievement.

Honestly the ending makes no sense.

Prince Farondris stood up to (against) azshara 10,000 years ago - and he was totally hated for it because azshara wtfpwned them.

But at the end of this quest the ghosts forgive the prince because he had the courage to stand up against azshara?

They hate him for fighting azshara (which got them killed), but suddenly they love him for fighting azshara?

Unfortunately, this quest can bug... and I mean, you can't even pick the quest up to start it, because upon turning in the previous quest "Save Yourself", Prince Farondis (the person who gives you this quest) can disappear into a cloud of vapor, making him unclickable... even though the new quest exclamation point is still there and visible.

Closing and restarting WoW was the only thing that worked for me; /reload did nothing. Just FYI, in case this happens to you too!
