Northrend was my favorite expansion just for its setting. High fantasy of Burning Crusade was neat (and the raids were far more intense bar none)....however, I have a soft spot for the Viking theme and mythology so I'm super excited about this time walking event. Can the old dungeon achievements be completed in this?
Thanks for including the Wrathgate cinematic. It's been so long since I saw it I'd forgotten about it. I remember thinking the figures flying in were Valkyrie until... Cheers...
Love the wrath dungeons the most so really excited for this week :)
Under Vrykul probably want to change it from excited to executed (unless I missed something) Good post though, loved Wrath though was my first time ever playing wow
good old times i'm glad that they made them into toys ;)
I remember doing Mysteries of the Infinite on my Level 73 Marksman hunter and being so terribly disappointed that the NPC "future" version of me had become a melee hunter or something. (Fought using my stat-stick polearm instead of my gun.)Looking back on it now, and looking forward to Legion, apparently I'm destined to reroll Survival and become a melee hunter. :(NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
At level 100 I have begun soloing ICC to finalize old achievements that my raid group never finished back in the day (we always did certain fights on heroic, and others regular - so my achievements were a bit split..) without the noisy chatter of vent and getting ready for a raid, you really focus on the lengthy RP/dialog exchanges between the NPC's in a new way.The first time I really paid attention to the fact that the father was coming to collect the body of his son, raised as a death knight (even if it meant watching us kill him ...again... first).. I truly felt moved. I miss the storytelling that existed in Wrath. I haven't connected emotionally to most of the stories in Cata, MOP or WOD the way I did with Wrath. There were a few stories here and there that had promise. But nothing quite as gut wrenching as that scene.
Remember that:Deathbringer Saurfang's name was Dranosh Saurfang, as his father says in the raid (horde side), it means Heart of Draenor.High Overlord Saurfang name is Varok Saurfang, brother to... Broxigar Saurfang (yeah the one who wounded mighty Sargeras during the Sundering).
Dragonshire > Dragonshrine. Bugged me a bit. Also Wrymrest > Wyrmrest. Otherwise, nicely put together. (:
Thanks for sharing those infos. Wrath has been for me the most played expansion. So good to read about it again in this article!
I was just coming into my own as a would-be raider when ICC was current. I still fondly recall buying DBW off someone in a 25M pug for between 10-15k. One of the better purchases I've ever made, in hindsight.
"Lady Jaina Proudmoore cries.King Varian Wrynn says: Jaina, why are you crying?Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: It was nothing, your majesty. Just... I'm proud of my king."I miss this Jaina.
"During the vision in Mystery of the Infinite, Nozdormu is revealed as the leader of the Bronze Dragonshire, but Chromie discounts it because it seems unlikely."I'm sorry... what? Even if that was meant to be Dragonflight, that doesn't make a lick of sense.
