It depends.I usually play caster, preferably summoner/DoT type, but sometimes I like to play rogue or maybe even warrior.

I like to go for a damage/healing hybrid because I hate getting pigeon-holed into one role. The warrior priest in Warhammer Online was my dream come true.
My name is Lerox, Nice to meet you all. I like the up close an personal melee classes, such as theif, or assassin, or rogue. I rarely go for the warrior or caster type classes. My favorite RPG is Fable, I own all 3 copies, Not sure if you would consider Mass Effect a RPG game or just an action one. I own both copies out now and getting the third on the 6th. For games like these I like the sniper classes. For WoW I picked to be a Ret paladin. and for SWTOR I play as a Sith Inquisitor. For any RPG game I work towards Dark or Evil side whenever possible. I.e picking an evil faction for WoW, or Sith for SWTOR. in Fable I choose the evil options such as owning an entire town(killing everyone, then bribing the guards to forget the crime) then Buying all the homes and uping the rent price per house :P.
When I play any RPG I usually go for a melee and mage class. I enjoy hand to hand combat a lot but 2 handed swords or axes are just as amazing but I also love to burn and freeze things as a mage can't go wrong with freezing your enemy in a block of ice then burning them to a crisp lol so it works out both ways.
I always end up enjoying the up close melee warrior classes the most. I just find it so rewarding, even if they don't offer a lot in the way of utility.
I usually play the melee types, giant sword in hand etc.The game play always feels faster. In mmorpgs however I always gravitate towards the healer classes
Usually, my first char on every new game is a hunter. But mostly i switch to a tank with magic abilities (Paladin or Death Knight in WoW, Rogue or Cleric in Rift) or a Healer/Support (love Priest in WoW and Bard in Rift).Really enjoyed Rogue tanking in Rift :)
i usually play casters but rarely i play melee classes as dps
I always love to keep my distance from my enemys, therefor I'm mostly a hunter, but I'm granted with great arcane power aswell so you'll likely see thunders cast by my hand.
My first Hunter, Blestifileas, was a bit clueless. I did not know what to do in any aspect of the game, so learning became an obsession. After much struggle (and kicks and name-calling) and new knowledge, I decided it was time to make a REAL Hunter. Ranjia is going to be fierce! Though I am leveled at 85, there is always so much more to learn, and I am not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy ranged DPS because I am rather old with the eyesite that goes along with that. Melee does not suit me in a real damage way ("you are facing the wrong way!). My hunter along with her bloodthirsty pet can wage a two-fronted attack. They can stand back and assist the tank - dealing major damage to bosses while the pet rends and rips the target, but the hunter can also assess the situation and make ajdustments to her plan accordingly. She keeps the healer in site at all times to take aggro or deal some crowd control if needed so the healer can focus on keeping the team alive, and traps are set to blast, freeze, slow, or incinerate the mobs when they are, well, mobbing the melee fighters. I am also leveling a Mage because I have been influenced by their awesome ability to deal massive damage in melee and at range. Blue skies, and Happy Hunting! Ranjia(Holler if you want to play...you can even be bad at it:, and I won't call you names OR kick you! I am just a very high-level noob, after all:)
I'm always playing healers, whatever class it is. I feel so powerfull, having all their lives in my hand... <3
im short range mage but i like to fight at close too,the thing that excites me is Mage-Fighter class on KoA Reckoning. It give great exp to be mage and warrior in one char.
When I start an MMO, my first character is always a Mage/caster archetype. I like using a heavy-hitting toolbox to control a fight. I also enjoy healing clerics as well. I change it up with a rogue sometimes, but I simply cannot not do heavy-plate melee for more than a few levels.
