Well this is fun, I just quit Wow about 4 days ago. No urges to go back to Wow, at least yet. Mostly this break is because I started med uni this month which takes up most of my time now. I will see how things will work out. *thinks of cataclysm and goblins riding go-karts"
The ultimate place to be free from your WoW addiction is to recognize that you're free to play and free to not play.
I'm going on a break as of tomorrow, as I'm back to School with a lot of new faces.I think I've got to reshuffle my priorities at the minute, to make it more organised and rigid.I'm going to change it and keep it this way, which I've not had the self-discipline to do until now; School Work > Social Life > Facebook/website browsing > Games. It sounds so simple now, but it has always been an issue for me to keep to a structure. I think A-levels are going to change that, hopefully for the better.TL;DR: I'm quitting/taking a break until my school work is in a routine, I'm meeting mates more and having a more fruitful real life, and then coming on websites and maybe games for a break.
I like cats.
I get to take an enforced break for four months in every seven due to work which i find helps a lot as it keeps the game fresh and interesting for me with a clear path to follow to get my gear up to the level it was before I left.My longest break was for a period of about 12 months at the end of Vanilla WoW due to my computer not being up to scratch to play the game. I was sucked back in when BC came out and I upgraded my computer. However at the end of the day RL must take precedence over WoW whether I am at home or not.
Better WoW than bars and malls if you ask me.$15 per month is cheap entertainment compared to $90 for cable TV.Thanks to my WoW addiction I've saved a lot of money, and although it takes up a few days out of my week most people with hobbies find themselves dedicating a lot of time to said hobby.Hobby does not = addiction."Keep telling yourself that."
I've never quit but I take breaks all the time simply because it bores me. It seems that I most often get on WoW when I simply have nothing better to do. I don't put WoW before school or anything else and I have no problems walking away from it. I think at one point I had walked away for two or three months (still paying my subscription) before coming back.
Took a break once, about two years ago. Lasted a month. Also went off WoW for a week back in the beginning of this year, but that was because the family went on holiday and I had no internet access.I've been considering going on another break, but the thing with that is that I have lots of spare time and without WoW I'd have nothing to spend it on. Plus, my grades are doing just fine.
The first time I stopped playing, not long after Burning Crusade was released, was because of a sort of boredom with leveling and wanting to try different games. I ended up coming back to WoW after about 3 months or so.Last year, up until the beginning of August, I actually stopped playing for around 9 months or so to work out my personal life, and again out of a sort of boredom with the game. I froze my account, and stopped coming to Wowhead. After getting things in order, and feeling the urge to level a new character, I came back.
