All the posts regarding Turalyon going all "Garrosh Mode" is laughable and hypocritical. They're all just calling for the same story for the THIRD time, only difference is, its Alliance! Ignoring how Turalyon defends his wife practicing void magic, didn't object to working with HORDE heroes at Argus, and accepted Alonsus Faol despite being undead. He might take a more proactive role, but go all tyrannical? What a joke. You all say Blizzard is bad at writing, yet here you are asking for more of it with a blue paint job.
Watch....the old god that corrupts bronze aspect will eb some baby born of azeroth's corruption by the long time infested by the others. (or they just use the mentality that nothign stays dead in WoW)
Lovely (sarcasm) put the kid through torture by turning him into a mind-controlled meat puppet (why the hell should he feel any guilt over things he had zero choice over?), then have him hang out with the witch who was responsible for him being mind-controlled in the first place. Watch expansion after dragonflight be the inevitable light/void one where Turalyon goes light-crazy and Anduin will have to do a return of the king to help take him out (since we still have Arator's visions of standing over his father's dead body that have been in place since BC).
We'll get our "return of the king" moment in 11.0. Will prolly be more impactful if he isnt at the forefront of the next expansion.
That Il'gynoth was never implemented in game and thus means nothing.
This lines up with exactly who Anduin is. Trillions of souls in the Maw. Some sent there unfairly, some 'deservingly'. The new Arbitor refuses to send anyone to the Maw. The worst souls will go to Revendreth, even if it takes a hundred lifetimes to get them to understand and repent. Anduin sees all of this and it breaks his heart. He's not doing this for Sylvanas. He isn't picking up litter next to her to make her feel better. He's saving souls and redirecting their eternity to a better place. That sounds exactly like the King of Stormwind as he's been written from the getgo. There are no Covenent's who's job is to search the Maw for souls. They all have jobs and purposes elsewhere. But hopefully this will inspire some...
I feel like leaving Turalyon in charge like that is on par with leaving Garrosh in charge. We already know he and his wife aren’t all together there and have loyalties elsewhere beyond what they’re being left in charge of.
I never understood this idea that Turalyon would suddenly go light fanatical. His entire story arc was overcoming his zealotry when Xera was offed and realising the light doesn’t always use the best methods even if their intentions are good. His wife is like the mascot for void and he still defends her. He had to overcome his preconceptions about the undead with Alonsus Faol. He has 1000 years of experience now what with the times whimey shenanigans in Argus. I can’t see it making sense for him to suddenly start a light crusade.Yrel was another one that didn’t make much sense. But in her case it’s less of a stretch because her arc was becoming confident enough to stand up for herself. We have to remember that in AU draenor the orcs started the slaughter of the draenei WITHOUT the demon influence. Grommash suddenly saying “Draenor Is Free” doesn’t absolve they of their crimes, much like the horde doesn’t get absolved for burning the tree and other atrocities just because Sylvanas told them to.
Maybe his big decision is whether to ask Taelia out on a date or not.
Maybe Anduin wants to finds soul of his father Varian Wrynn in the Maw? I do not recall that we saw Varian anywhere in SL so far.
Anduin's pullin a Thrall lol
Just like judging Sylvanas using real-world morals, now people are thinking about the throne in the Warcraft universe like a throne in the real world. There is no reason for Anduin to abdicate. Even if he does, he will simply be handed back the throne when he inevitably returns. The only way he can stay away from the throne is to stay and die outside Azeroth.Sure, Turalyon could go to the dark side and take the throne, but we the heroes will always fight to protect the establishment, the status quo, no matter what the causes are for the change. He will just be the next boss.
The part I find about the convo between Genn and Anduin is when Anduin says "Turalyon will keep the Alliance safe in my absence. And I know you'll watch over everyone we care about...Old Wolf." If I recall, only Sylvanas called Genn that, Anduin always referred to him as Genn. He even puts the pause in there as if it was Sylvanas that said it. Then he goes off to help her find the damned souls in the Maw? I don't think Anduin is going through PTSD, I think in some twisted way, part of him is her. That isn't to say he isn't pulling a Thrall too though.
I 100% agree that they’re totally botching Anduin’s story but why is everyone convinced Turalyon will go full on Light cult mode? Are we forgetting he saw first hand Xe’ra try to subjugate Illidan in the most horrific fashion and the fact that his own wife is vessel for the Void? He’s by no means a Light fanatic and if anything is disenchanted by that entire dogmatic point of view.Did I miss some kind for character “development” of his from those god awful books that I haven’t read in years? Because the character most of the people in comments are referencing doesn’t seem like the Turalyon I know in-game. Or are people basing all of this on that old cryptic quote about the golden one and the vacant throne that may or may not be about him at all not to mention potentially just complete gibberish?
