Imagine considering yourself well-read enough to criticise the WoW lore but not being able to read the multiple times the article explicitly said "this isn't what I think is going on but it's fun to think about anyway".Like come on, guys.
Everything is cool about this story, except:Please let Blizzard just finish some off those trillion open storylines for ones.We are playing the Story of a whole Universe. Its totally fine if something happens, gets over, and some years later something else happens without a super deep connection between these two events.
If at least 10% of this article will be true - I'm ready to forgive all the flaws in the Shadowlands plot.
This was a super fun read, that would be awesome if this ended up being true! Good article
This was a fantastic read, love all the thought put into it! This is also a theory I've been toying around with myself, it's really interesting to go back through the expansion and recontextualize everything like this. Obviously, it could all be copium or whatever, but it's definitely fun to think of possibilities like this.I love the idea that maybe the reason why Zovaal in the raid ending cinematic is so different from the cartoonishly evil bad guy we've seen all throughout the expansion is because that cinematic is the only time we've ever seen him speaking freely of his own will. The Primus even specifically told us that Domination magic interferes with your very understanding of yourself - it seems suspicious that Zovaal could overcome that, especially when he's stripped of power chained up in the Maw.
I do always chuckle at theories like this but read them with an open mind, and frankly, somehow I hope writers did a bit better than this entire expansion currently is. Unlikely, but still. The only part that bothered me throughout is the intro silhouette theory: it can easily be laid off as beta/PTR but it really is not the 'big-bad evil' we see during the overdone Maw intro.
Nice article, I wish the writers were as smart as you!
All I took from this is 'Arbiter Pelagos' and it has me fuming.
this kinda makes sense it also would be funny if the primus is a dragon after all and that he worked with the infinite dragon flight to see all the possibilities and their outcomes i mean after all he is a evil genius and it would make sense
This is fun. A bit too smart for the writing team, I think, but I like it.
They also showed that the Primus can create illusions, such as an illusion of him as the runecarver, after we "free" him.
Don't give me hope.
I agree that this "conspiracy" seems unlikely, but its a fun read anyways. Thanks for putting it together!
Thank you for the in-depth analysis! This is definitely the longest article I have read. I never trusted the Runecarver from the start after Ve'nari's warning.Whether the speculation is true or not, the story is becoming very complicated, especially when it "overwrites" previously established lore. I think that this is a detriment to WoW—I cannot even imagine new players being able to keep up with this.
Well that was a awesome read and kinda makes me think. But sadly, I dont think the current writers are this smart to really come up with this kinda twist, I think what we got... is what we got. And as much as fans wish for it to eb different i sadly, doubt it will change
Leave it to the *!@#ty wow player mentality to crap on a well written speculation article. Well done, this was actually very fun and enjoyable to read. So many people in the comments are just bandwaggoning and probably have never paid attention to the lore.
This was a great read. Thanks for taking the time to write it all down., It sure would be one hell of a twist if it turns out (even in part) to be true.
