The winner has been posted into the original thread. Thank you everyone for participating!
I made this tonight! Though I altered some of the initial ingredients, as suggested, and really kicked it up a notch! I used ham steak in place of pepperoni, and for the cheese blend I used Emmentaler (the *original* Swiss cheese), Greyere, Munster, and a bit of Parmesan. For the beer + milk blend in the sauce, I used my S.O.'s home-brewed Irish Amber Ale (brewed about 3 months ago), and mixed heavy cream and 1% milk together, as I normally drink 1%. I did more of a 1:1 ratio with the beer + milk, so mine was 1-1/4 cup beer + 1-1/4 cup milk. I also added bread crumbs mixed with some Parmesan as my topping.Came out absolutely DELISH! May not be the *original* recipe as published now, since I made modifications, but WoW! So worth it!I'd been playing with the idea of modifying this recipe ever since it was published here, with no intentions on entering the contest. But I'm definitely planning on making MORE WoW dishes after this.
