For me, the biggest downside to this system is too much choice without being able to control item availability. I don't mind saving up tender each month, but being unable to revisit thr prior month's offerings feels bad. Yes, I know I can freeze one item. But maybe I wouldn't have bought the pirate set if I had known it would be available again next month... or the month after that. It would be nice to have more information on how they plan on rotating items, on how frequently they will appear for trade. Or even if the items could just stay on the vendor, period. Or for a few months at a time. Let's say, for instance, I save tender this month and decide to *not* buy an item or two, expecting next month's offerings to be interesting to me. Then the next month rolls around and there is in fact nothing I want. It feels bad to not know the rotation of when those original February items will reappear. We already have plenty of "save your currency for what you want" systems. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I do wish this system was even simpler in terms of a user being able to complete all tasks and therefore afford all items being offered.
And another recolour of Armageddon?I get that it's the best looking sword in game, but come on Blizz, lightning doesn't strike 3 times.
Some of the previously datamined trial of valor recolors are missing. I figured they'd drop all the trial of valor recolors in the same month.
Let me buy Tender with WoW gold, i've got too much and nothing to spend it on.
" Remember in future months, you only get 1,000 Trader's Tender a month, so spend wisely! "Well then, ♥ Mounts ♥ it is then. ,,,>^__^<,,,
I mean you're not wrong, Blizzard will likely monetize things at some point. But one could hope that at some point they'd learn the lessons of what their greed has done to their game. They've literally lost millions of players over the years. And most of them were lost due to that "slippery slope" stuff eventually getting to be too much, or the game itself not being fun enough to retain players. I've been around since 2007 - so I remember all the never going to happen, eventually changing. Heck, I know I'm part of the problem (I own nearly all the store mounts/pets). But everyone has different levels of what they're okay with. A company trying to make money doesn't bother me if I am getting enjoyment out of that game - because I know it keeps the lights on for that game. Per usual Blizzard will make their monetization things, optional. You won't have to pay them money - it will just take you longer to get certain items if you don't (whenever they roll this out/if they roll this out). Some folks will be okay with that, and some won't. The reason LFG doesn't cost money for a premium subscription fee is that players have drawn the line at essential to the game services not costing money. They're okay with services they have the choice to not use costing money. They're not okay with services they need to use to play the game, costing money. That's the difference. This is pets, mounts, and transmogs. And they're giving people access to former items that were only in the cash shop without having to pay rl money for it. Only you can decide if that's a fair trade-off for you. No one's forcing you to use the trading post.
@GreensmowerThank you. It's nice to see someone else who understands how this all goes down every time, instead of every other person in this comments repeating the same ad nauseum "copium, copium, Blizzard said it would be free..." spiel. Though I do have one comment:
All these old boomers whining. If you don't like this optional trading post don't use it and shut up. You're not being forced with a gun to your head and this doesn't cost real earned money so there goes your microtransaction excuse. A video game gets you this worked up just quit so those of us who enjoy it don't have to deal with you anymore.
Again, Blizzard prevents you from being able to grind out and get everything you want.Pointless for cosmetic items. The devs are just jerks.
Do you really think all of these items will be on the shop in one month? Because I would predict a wow forum melt down if they were.. "I can't buy them all, you're not giving us enough coins".. There was already that last month when we got 2,000 of them.
