Way too low drop chance considering to even summon the boss requires unrealistic amount grinding...It may be slightly better as 4 players group, but doing this insane grind solo for miniscule chance of drop simply not worth it.
the question is: theres any reason to grind a toons of materials to summon duriel and have 2% of dropping uber uniques?
Honestly the grind wouldnt be bad if Shards werent gatekept behind 300 cinder boxes in helltides. cuz farming materials to do varshan(even if bit more rng) is pretty easy, but helltide cruchtime just feels awful.
Some uniques 100% have a higher drop rate.
I haven’t played the game in months, how hard is it to kill this boss? How long does a kill take? What is this people are talking about having to farm mats to summon it? All of this sounds like way too much of a chore/grind.
Drop Rates are fine - Material grind isn't...I'm not a math pro but assuming u'll really need 300 runs and get 12 Materials within 30min of Helltide grinding for one part of the Duriel fight - it's just 125h helltide grinding. Pretty cool content. Not a bit tideous or boring or something...
For once the loot gods are in my favor, I got Shako on my 16th kill <3Killed her about 80 more times after and got no other uber uniques tho.
Droprate should be 10% minimum with the current pacing of the game and required materials. Nobody spends another 50 hours to farm their uber-unique items after having reached level 100.
The joy of probabilities. If a unique has a 0.4% drop rate, then after 300 runs there is still a 30% chance you haven't gotten one yet. And the average number of runs you'd need to do to get one remains at 250-300, regardless of how many hundreds or thousands of failed runs you've already done.Math: (1-0.004)^300. Ask google or wolfram alpha.
It's not tradeable... why is the droprate 2%? This would make sense in PoE, but not in D4.
All this talk about the tremendous amount of mats required and time to farm them are ignoring the elephant in the room…The season has already been sullied by the several day window where duping Uber Duriel mats put millions of millions of summons in to circulation. How do you think the people who executed the summons for the statistics used in this article acquired these mats? JSP.If we convert in game currency to real life dollars just for the argument of time spent versus value, it’s pennies to purchase summon mats.
