I remember tanking all those back in the day for Kara attunements etc. Back in the day Warrior tanks usually required loads of CC in 5 man HCs but i rarely had that luxury instead we aoed like everyone did later in Wrath. If i can brag i often got told that i tanked like a paladin, i even got invites from HC-1337-nolife players to tank their 5man hcs for their alts. As payment i got to tag along on some of their raids (and trash tank and makeshift dual wield prot-dps on bosses). I never got to tank proper on their raids though as they had their own super-geared nolifers on that job.
This brought back some amazing memories. I'd completely forgotten all the keys and attunements. Missed out on both the Hand of A'dal and Champion of the Naaru titles, though. Like many people, I'm sure, I did most of the questlines; just not enough. My biggest letdown was never having had the chance to do Magtheridon, even though we had done HKM (I was often mage tank) and Gruul. Unfortunately, we had to group up with another raid team because we only had two Karazhan raid groups. :(If only the titles could be regained somehow. :)
I remember very well this time ; especially the Milhouse Manastorm challenge : countless times did he died to the boss... Such frustration !I have also a bittersweet memory about the 2nd boss of Shadow Labyrinth, the infamous Blackheart the Inciter and his oh-so-famous Incite Chaos : a magnificent 15s undodgable, unblockable mass control which would aggro any mob on the room (requesting you to kill every single enemy - and some of them were INVISIBLE until aggroed and could very well one shot your clothies) and with the peculiar tendency to blow all your cooldowns and trinkets and making you run out of mana... Not to mention that this ability cooldown was random... And the aggro was reset. So if your tank wasn't fast enough at the end of the mind control to regain aggro, Blackheart could smack the nearest group member... (and at that time, taunts could miss ! Or being on CD because Blackheart randomly decided to make your tank use it just before the end of the ability) Oh the memories... So bitter, so sweet...Oh... One more thing, concerning The Black Morass... Basically, you had to run between randomly opened portals to get aggro on mobs before they decided to hug Medivh. If your DPS wasn't really bright, it was easy to get overwhelmed. But there was a very horrible twist if you were a GNOME. You see, this dungeon was a swamp. With water everywhere. You had to run really quickly between portals. But... If you were a gnome... You couldn't. Why ? Because the level of water was too HIGH. You had to SWIM (and, at that time, mounts were automatically desactived upon swimming). It has been rectified by lowering the water's height, but I knew a couple of gnomes relying on Savory Deviate Delight to overcome this hurdle. Lowly Alliance indeed... (DLC comic made two strips about this situation : http://www.darklegacycomics.com/85 and http://www.darklegacycomics.com/100)
Those were fun days XD
Too bad there's no way to legitimately earn "Champion of the Naaru" today. I'm sure I'm not the only Draenei paladin who would love to have that title.
