Is fine for a second raid of the xpac cinematic. would have been cool with a bit more maybe but storywise it builds that ominous tension well enough escpecially as sarkareth really wasnt all that important
You guys are silly sometimes, the cinematic is fine. It's not terrible just because it wasn't directed by Michael Bay. Not everything has to be stylish and explosive. The tone of this one is just right. It's quiet, it's sad. Three people here all chasing Neltharion's legacy and realizing there's nothing there but darkness and empty promises. Not all cinematics are lead ups and foreshadowing, sometimes it's just an ending to a storyline. This was only an end to Sarkareth and leaving something for Wrathion and Sabellion to seriously consider for their futures. This is the whole point of 10.1's story arc, Aberrus is not the start of worldly doom. It's just a lesson for the black dragons and dracthyr to learn from.
That's it?
And the Oscar goes to....
A bland death for an unimportant villain. Part of me expected an unfitting and over the top end, but this is fine. Mob characters die mob deaths.
"cinematic" Yeah, right.
Nice little cutscene. No big story reveals, but plenty of subtext for people to analyze. Not every raid is going to end with some big, mind-blowing cinematic. Castle Nathria, Battle of Dazar'alor, and Uldir were all raids from the past two expansions that didn't have any cutscenes at all.
People are silly. Yes they are. There is more to this then this. This was just the end of raid cinematic. It closes one plot point. The big plot point is to come and its experienced by the chapters.
Feels like this is a cinematic folks are gonna misconstrue cuz it's not bombastic enough, when even just seeing the pre-raid cinematic with Wrathion, Sabellion, Ebyssian and and Emberthal is enough to see why the cinematic is as it is.Chances are good that, throughout the raid, Wrathion and Sabellion will be horrified by the sights of Neltharion's experiments, most, if not all, done prior to his corruption. He was a monster from the start, his fall just make it more outwardly apparent. Sarcareth's death, lamenting Neltharion's legacy, is the final nail for both of them to see, as Ebyssian says earlier, that the legacy of Neltharion is death. This is essentially the cinematic that brings an end to the ghost that is Neltharion, and his looming shadow over the Dracthyr and the Black Dragonflight alike. Now, all that is left, are those dracthyr and dragons who wants to make a new, better future for themselves.
Lame-O
This raid feels like Naruto filler...
Loving the analysis in the comments. Things don't have to be bombastic. I just wish this was a fully rendered cinematic instead of an in-game cutscene.
Oh, dear. My heart was just seconds from racing from that cinematic alone.
The thing that people tend to forget: The story isn't only shown via cutscenes. The raid itself tells a story, and some fights can tell a whole story. Also it's very likely that there is stuff happening after the cinematic as well. Just like with Garrosh, where you had the stand-off between alliance and horde after the cinematic as a very important lore thing.
