Great, now people will be forced to run 2 paladins instead of one.Such good game design, wow. The last thing anyone needed was being forced to now bring 2 of one class, on top of already being forced to bring multiple classes for specific raid buffs. What's next? Elemental Shaman getting a totem for casters so you are forced to run two shamans instead of one Enhancer? Where does it end? Two Warlocks meaning two gateway uses? It's only fair since apparently Paladins get to have not one, but two vital raid buffs.
Hopefully I live to see the day that Survival Hunter receives the same rework/attention as ret has. A Melee class with the paper survivability of its range counter parts is rough
As a Ret/Prot main for the last 3 expansions I've seen nearly every 10.0.7 change as positive changes if tuning is strong and Retribution has a gap closer. Coming from a pvp perspective, most classes have movement abilities that are unaffected by roots and snares. These blink/dash/teliporting abilities are present during the same rated arena games that a paladin can only walk during blessing of freedom or divine shield before in is removed early by an enemy. If a Paladin uses Steed they are slowed, then BoF is pressed, just in time to have blessing of freedom rolling while we are stunned, turned into a sheep, cycloned, root/silenced, mindcontrolled, feared, or knocked back off a ledge. The 10% movement speed after Judgement, 30% slow it applies, and a few added seconds of being cced during steed isn't going to be enough to catch a pillar humping target. The 50% slow used with consecration/blessed hammer may help some. What I would like to see is game wide/all specs DR eachothers full loss of movement/ control abilities or, after you've received the first 3 CCs in 30 seconds you are CC immune for 20 seconds. I know Blizzard is fond of CC immunities as several classes have them, but it isn't combat if you can only control your character for 20% of a match. Humans beings don't pay the box price and a monthly subscription to play the game as a sheep, and I think CC is out of hand.Specifically the 5hp cost 66% buffed base damage increased finishers I love, with many more charges of or resets of 2hp granting builders feels great. The dot damage and spread pressure damage of Retribution on the PTR feels good. I'm just hoping the spec isn't destroyed during tuning. If Retribution is nerfed in damage output again while we already can't walk I may have to jump on the "hand out full loss of character control until you win the match" bandwagon.
I agree with the majority Bolas said here.Except for Healing Hands & Unbound Freedom being in the Generel Tree. It doesnt make any sense to have Spec only Talents there, whats the point of splitting in the first place then? Also it leaves even less meaningfull choices in the general tree, which isnt super good to beginn with. The gameplay choices in the Ret tree however look super fine now.One extra note: Penitence is supposed to pair well with the DoT talents? But Expurgation just does more dmg if u make it Holystrike instead of Radiant for me.
I have a strong feeling this is going to own out into aura dancing as holy to where you use a WA to track procs and then switch between devotion and this one.
What about the "heroic leap" is it still in the PTR build?
Did the Leap ability make it into the PTR yet?
If they don't nerf the cooldowns of these defensives to be longer there's going to be serious imbalances.
i'm hoping that Searing Light gets an addition added to it like the physical damage capstone got one. It does suck that now its pretty much set up to one being ST and the other being AoE though. Although we wont know for sure how it all is until the big brain number crunchers come out with what is best.Kind of BS how they made all those changes for consecration to be a big part of ret at the start of DF just to make it pretty worthless again. The Vanguard of Justice talent doesn't seem to be as powerful as you try to make it out to be. I see it being really strong in PvP where big chunky damage is what you want but in pve the overall dmg of it doesnt really increase for the holy power spent unless im missing something.
