i too want my tier set to be mailed to me when i log in.refuse to raid for itrefuse to do m+ for itwhich means no great vault for itand certainly not good enough to get it in pvpLFR isnt max ilvl so i dont want that one i want max ilvlnow they are allowing it to be crafted so I will take issue with that as well unless it is cheap and very affordable enough to make the above options pointless AND NO TIME-GATING , i want it day 1This will allow me to maximize my afk time so I can vent about lack of content by day 2. Im watching you blizzard! you are walking on eggshells and I am ready to quit at the drop of a hat.
Main problem of game are people who complain WITHOUT providing well reasoned alternative. Most complainers don't think about situation enough. There usually is good enough reason why is things done way they are (thought there usually also is much better way to do things which would fullfill same goals). Blizzard simply don't have "common sense" employee to point out where things can (and likely will) go wrong.Situation isn't perfect and could be improved, BUT its not as bad as complainers imply.Blizzard simply work quite slow on good changes.EXAMPLE: some 5-6 years ago (still on old forums) I wrote thread about ways how to improve on gearing (mostly reducing RNG impact) - it included only already existing systems (reputation, crafting, currency from content, etc.) - now years later some of these are implemented even if added slowly one by one instead of adding full system they could just copy-paste every expansion and start adding to it way I did propose.Another half of decade and most of it likely will be there (even if not as good as what I wrote back in time)
As a purely M+ player I've really enjoyed the catalyst, apart from all the silly timegating. Hopefully they don't ruin it.
This would have to be on the extremely cheap end of things and level of effort for crafting to not make it a giant gold sink.
It's a great idea to make crafting professions able to fill a similar role to the catalyst. As people said before in the comments, and as the devs themselves said, it wouldn't be like SL legendaries at all in terms of prices, thanks to the new work order system. Nothing would go through the AH, it would be only with BoP items that you the player loot and give to the crafter to transform and maybe you pay a fee. And within your guild you probably would not pay anything at all.I think the overall pacing of acquisition for tier sets this patch has been really good. Being able to get a tier set from any great vault slot + from the raid + from the catalyst. Maybe the catalyst could have opened 2 weeks earlier.
Making something like Creation Catalyst linked with Professions is gonna be a huge nightmare, look at what happen to the Legendary items where people just price the pieces at a very high price, not until recently where they lower the cost because not many people were buying them since people already has themBut if they are gonna try to do this, they need to make it so that the stuff that can upgrade that gear isn't something difficult to make or takes a lot to make it, for example Shadowghast Ingot or Enchanted Elethium Bar or other crating items that have Enchanted on them, that way more mats can be sold and not let players price those really really highI just hope they don't do another Legendary item thing, it was annoying enough that players were pricing them way too damn highI also hope they bring back different stats of Flask like they did in the past and not make another Spectral Flask of Power
Making it rely on professions can lead to absurd prices or just not attainable if your server is dead enough, would rather have a capital city NPC crafter that just takes gold if they want a long term solution.
No! Not in proffesions, i dont want to pay milions of gold again for items...
So many people are forgetting about the new work orders. The cost of the work order is what the poster sets, not the crafter. You're providing the mats, I can click a button and go about my way. You're happy. I'm happy and 0 hassle for both sides. I'll happily take a fee (even if it's low) craft your item for you via the new system vs fighting the AH reposters and undercutters or posting a BoE that may not sell. I'll be doing the same thing for my toon or alts. Work Orders are really going to shake up the economy imo. This new system is also great for crafted transmog from older content.
here come the wave of crybabies who claim they are "forced" into professions to "stay competitive".they just want to raid log 2 hours of play per week and have the top tier gear in the game.
You all people don't read.Go read about the "Job Order/Work Order" piece of profession. This would be relatively similar to having an enchanter enchant an item now (non-tradeable slot) except it'll be a system you "submit to" and then get the item delivered back to your mailbox when completed. You can have a BoP item from a M+ dungeon and submit in this to be converted. Maybe with an additional reagent or something. Super easy, and very low time on the crafter's side to complete this so you won't be at risk for having to pay exorbinent fees. Or just join a guild where some folks are crafters and by supplying everything yourself they'll probably click the "convert" button for you for free. :D
I wish wowhead would put a work order explanation in build at the top of this post like wtf people use google
I'm glad to see the Creation Catalyst will return in some capacity, curious how things will end up, since so much is up in the air. Hopefully they have a discussion with players about when it should be added (Launch, couple weeks, month, etc) since a lot think the 8 weeks was too long.Tying it to professions can definitely vary on a variety of factors. How rare is the reagent they use? If it's as common as Cosmic Flux I wouldn't expect them to want a huge tip (outside of greedy people), and you could always level one yourself (which I actually started, planning on Monk/Evoker so I got Skin/LWing since both toons will use gear from that), but that begs the question how expensive will it be to level and maintain, etc. As others have said, particularly since we're going to a place called Tyrhold with titan architecture to some extent, it'd be easy for the catalyst to be some Titan thing we take advantage of, if players really don't like the profession angle.
why not leave this catalyst useful all the times in zereth, Its interesting that place has tied something to it, also its cool place itself and new/ old players will get to check on it, just make portal in orgimmar near catalyst. Blizz is often forcing us to check on old places through quests etc but is so scared to leave place unique for something.
