Intercepting the Legion's PlansReference to the Tales of the Unknown: Volume 1 (also known as Bard's Tale) computer game from 1985. Skara Brae is the name of the human town in which you find yourself. At least I see it as a reference. I enjoyed playing the Wizardry series, then fell in love with Bard's Tale on our Apple IIe.
They even play on Suramar mobs.I let myself get seen during one of the quests into the void and had the message: A dissimulation! What are you concealing!
Rowdy Piped Piper reference for damn sure!Love that quote!Thank you so much!
Not mentioning Captain Fareeya? Clearly a reference to Pharah from Overwatch (Whose real name is Fareeha Amari and holds the rank of captain) and is voiced by the same voice actor.
I had hoped the area Fiends Run in the Wastes was a Doctor Who reference. Been keeping an eye out for a WQ or NPC saying "Fiends run, when a good man goes to war."
The 2 KIA scouts in the Fel Heart of Argus chain named Skara and Brae, Skara Brae is a town in the Ultima series.

I just finished a world quest to defeat Captain Faruq. Being a 1990's WWF/WWE Wrestling fan, this reminds me of Ron Simmons a/k/a Farooq. His name also reminds me of the 1984 song "The Roof is on Fire" by Rock Master Scott & the Dynamic Three.
Fighting monsters who drop coin and loot is an obvious reference to the classic games Everquest and Ultima Online. Everquest was the first to send players to another celestial body in the expansion Shadows of Luclin where players adventured on Norrath's moon Luclin. It's clear that the developers made Argus entirely to reference this.I feel like most of the explanation of pop culture references are as general or grasping at straws as this one. It always rubs me weird for some reason.
