Increasing playee count maybe also means that wow will be included in xbox season pass and maybe also release on xbox too...
Just like Fable..... And Conker.....
increasing player count means rip mythicraiding, rip non-q-able pvp, rip gear grind etc etc
Xbox port isn't coming for sure. But migration to free-to-play model seems likely.
Make WoW great again
Lower the subscription price, increase the quality of the game. That's a good strategy. But don't dare changing the essence of the game or you'll break it and it will lose it's worth.
Cant add F2P elements to WoW with the piss little amount of content - only reason they are afloat is bc of monthly subs that people regularly forget about. Mobile will most likely do this since the actual PC game cannot
Forza Horizon 5 reached 18m. (remember, that was helped with mixes of Game Pass and free-to-play and plummeted to 18 active players shortly after)
I have quit WoW, just because I was playing like 1 hour in a day max. I didn't care about farm or PVP or PVE. I was interested only in the story quests, and game chat, with a little bit RP.But for that 1 hour I had to pay subscription for a full day. And WoW definitely does not have such quality to pay for each month for. But, if WoW will be "buy expansion only, with free subscription", means that you can play whenever you want, and you don't have to play only in the concrete period, then I will definitely will return. Because why not? You already have expansion, come and play whenever you want. Your time will not going to burn out...
I understand the value of touting big player count numbers, but unless a game *retains* that player count over a period of time, I'm not sure thats any more than really flexing. Look at New World for example.
There will need to be a lot to change on wow to get more players back into azeroth.
