The complaint of newly level capped people has been going on since Vanilla, old complaint, not really a problem. The most memorable difficulties of this game that I can remember, have been that damn corner down in Scholomance before you get to the big bone rooms (the pulls with the casters!), and for some reason the whelps in UBRS / subsequent dragon pulls on the ramps. The game has always been filled with newly dinged people who have skill (but are nubs) and want to learn, as well as just bad players. I think what's changed over the years is that people have lost focus of this reality, and start blaming these inherent challenges as somehow related to Blizzard's design choices. Thanks for the recap!
That last part wins so hard it wins twice.
I think the devs have done a great job of adding ´raid type´ behavior to questing. Back in vanilla, there were never questing mobs that put bad stuff on the ground under you as well as other things. Just today, I was questing in Hyjal and I came across 3 different fights that required you to do something besides your normal rotation.1. There is a quest where the quest mobs start with 100% immunity, and you have to pry off their armor while fighting them.2. There is the Nemesis the turtle fight where you have to use the totem at exactly the right time to protect yourself from his AOE attack.3. The lady-dragon where you have to fight her in human form, get out of black zones, and then call in help once she turns into a dragon. The very last boss in Twilight Highlands is also very dungeon-like. You have to activate the runes, stay away from the shadow one, then you have to revive your allies when they die.. etc.I haven´t done enough leveling 1-60 by questing to know, but I imagine the devs have added a lot more ´do not stand in the fire´type abilities that it will help players learn.

Azrile makes a very good point i'm surprised wasn't brought up by Bashiok. Any time you join a random, or even a PuG, it should be a given that you will encounter a "noob" or someone who hasn't bothered to research the encounter. Making the leveling experience easier isn't breeding class ignorance, laziness/inexperience is. Not to mention the frequent class fixes, some of which have been rather major, and not everyone is awesome enough to browse Wowhead.I have a female friend who I recently brought to WoW. She loves the game very much, but I swear my forehead is permanently red from /facepalms. She dies to things 20 levels lower than her, has one action bar devoted entirely to mounts/pets, and has actually drowned in the pond at Thunder Bluff. She doesn't like dungeons though (the first few randoms she did, players were outright horrible to her), so you don't have to worry about encountering her specifically... but you should always expect to anyway. This is a game. You know, something you do as entertainment? For fun? Looking For Many gives that title for a reason!
agree
That person Neth was debating with needs to quit wow, turn that negative energy into positive energy, and focus that energy into a hobby he or she isn't so frustrated with.
You missed one Miyari!
I actually agree with the meat of most of the posters posts if not the delivery. Adding some of the dailies as weeklies instead with adjusted rewards would make it a bit less grindy, wouldn't hurt anything and I do think it would be an improvement.I can remember a time when it took more than 2-3 spell/ability casts to kill mobs of the same level while wearing uncommon gear...It would be nice if they could do a minor adjustment on lower ranks of spells to not hit quite so hard. I don't think it makes a massive difference, but 2 shotting everything honestly gets boring to me and I'm generally pretty "easy"-friendly oriented. I know the game isn't oriented towards leveling and things are tuned for level cap...but they just went to the trouble to revamp the leveling world so you can't say they have no interest in it at all. It IS easier to overlook abilities while leveling if all your ever cast is your 2 or 3 hardest hitting abilities, I don't know that it would make people 'less noob' at level cap but I do think it would make the leveling process a little more fun and interactive. I also think people would play a little better if they actually needed at least a pet or plate wearer to tank and couldn't just waltz through the low level dungeons the way they do now. They don't deserve the name dungeon as they are now (imo). Also /cheer for the person pointing out that Bashiok was breaking their own forum rules. I personally find him rude and disrespectful and think it's ridiculous the way they selectively moderate on the official forums.
