The keycaps are made by dwarffactory. All of the keycaps they make are high quality artisan keycaps and cost around the same price. If you're not in the mechanical keyboard hobby you won't understand.
You guys keep using that word "artisan."
It's not cheese. It's not beer. It's not a hand-carved piece of wooden furniture. It's MOLDED PLASTIC. What do they do, source the petroleum from rare deposits on the mountains of the Himalayas then have monks turn it into ABS using ancient plasticsmithing techniques before receiving a cleaning with holy spring water and then packed in a fur-lined box to be delivered to their customers?
No. It's plastic. The same Chinese plastic everything's made out of. I guarantee you they were also manufactured in China for pennies each and then sold to dupes like you who fall for the marketing and think any tiny piece of inert plastic is worth $100.
The fact that you can't understand that and just keep spouting "artisan" over and over literally proves you've fallen for the marketing and you don't understand people like you are part of the problem.

Im into mechanical keyboards hobby, and I understand. But all artisan keycaps are still a rip off. It priced artifically high just because they can, not because it cost a lot to make. Especially mass produced ones like this one here. Fair play to them for ripping people off and the buyer taking it like they had a good deal. If I am a businessman I would have done the same

I mean there are very different kinds of plastic. The keycap is clearly made of Resin for the need of fine details that ABS plastic would be a poor use for. I've actually made my own and sold locally so it would fall under the definition of artisan as I handcraft them and i do get my resins on amazon, the online store not the forest. If they are truly done by dwarf factory then they would fulfil the limited quantities and traditional methods in the definition of artisan. Its not the ingredients that make something artisan but the quantities and methods. Check out there "The Making of" section of their website.

It's PLASTIC. It all originates from the same raw source material one way or another. Dead plants.

The keycap is clearly an enormous rip-off, resin or ABS.

Yes. These aren't.

No. Simply being done in limited quantities does not make something artisan. As far as the methods they're almost certainly pumped out of a Chinese factory in large quantities for pennies apiece.
You guys sound like Nigel Tufnel and his "But these go to eleven!" in This Is Spinal Tap. Just replace eleven with "artisan."

Turned off D4 news. Still get these poorly disguised "ads" for it.

People obviously don’t know the market for key caps. $70 may be $1000 to some people but people spend $100+ on one cap in the artisan market.
Ah yes, mass produced plastic. Definitely worth $1000. It's the exact same as designer brands, the products are the same crap just with a name slapped on it.

It’s definitely not a good deal, 80 euros is a bit much for a limited quantity keycap. But I thought it looked cool so I got one anyway.
