I would've liked fresh TBC servers tbh
I would just like them to add special content updates to Classic. It could have an entire different design philosophy over Retail.
These are interesting changes honestly. I’d usually write off going back to vanilla as TBC is my home but some of these would be tempting…
I mean they gotta do something imo, at least they are asking and not leaving it alone.
is this for vanilla classic? tbc is out. has anyone been on classic era lately? its a ghost town lol.
F R E S H?
Why can't they do these surveys more often and to everyone? And not just Classic, but just in general for the entire health of the game. We'll see when 9.1 hits how the numbers look, but right now it's not great how dead it is and actually listening to what players want may actually, you know, keep players around.
Blizzard is avoiding the obvious way to get Classic players - cosmetic gains are transferred to retail. You want to transmog classic content? Do classic content.
"No world buffs in raids" would be incredibly enticing to me. Just by removing them in raids the encounters would be significantly more difficult, as many who raid without them can attest to. I hope this becomes a thing to breathe life back into classic servers, imo.
Its a good thing they are looking for a direction to take it. They know you can't never provide updates as eventually it would get stale. Perfect example is runescape old school. The QOL changes and new stuff while keeping it in that era allows it to continue being developed and played
I would implement ALL those proposed changes and do 6 month seasons while at the same time keeping intact the "Classic Classic" servers (xD).What could be more "fresh" than that? The only thing I don't like would be having to delete all your characters at the end of each cycle. Maybe you could transfer them to a "permanent old Classic server" at the end of a season?
Personally i rather have all of that but a 2 year cicle but predictable, i would go for a run to try tacle Naxx, but seasonal seasons sound niceand wish for retail to have Classic Timewalking
Classic+, come on already.
This is a good survey for sure. In a bittersweet way, it's nice to see the problems with Classic so we as a community can go in with some experience to see why these changes may or may not be good for the game, or how they could even make the Classic experience feel fresh. I didn't get the survey, but I'm still gonna offer my opinions on each bullet point.
I want Classic WotLK then go into Classic fresh with the full cycle of phases from Classic>TBC>WotLK. Remove world buffs from vanilla and some minor quality of life tweaks.
No world buffs in raids, no dot limit, and trying to balance all classes + specs would be a good start.
Yeah... I knew they would go the D3 season reset model when they started to rush things on classic, killing it. Sadly they're not going the route they should go since the begining, with a "reforged" version of vanilla with current graphics, higher resolution textures for all gear (which can be used on retail, so, no wasted effort), etc. and things that were really a bad design, fixed (like quest flow/xp, quest drop rates, etc.).
Faster XP rates to levelHard pass. When you hit 60, it's something to be proud of when you did it all by yourself.BarbershopSure, why not?No world buffs in raidsYes, there should be a reason they're called WORLD buffs.Increase debuff limit on raid bossesSure. Black Market Auction House for vanity itemsNOOriginal Alterac Valley designOnly thing I want from Classic WoW AV is the horde spawn to not be near the middle.More difficult raid bosses and dungeon encountersIf that means pre-nerf values, then yes!Increased rate of item dropsOnly if it's quest items. *cough* Black Drake's Heart *cough*Earn gold at faster ratesNah, I actually felt proud of myself when I made enough gold to buy my first epic mount. Kinda ruins that experience if gold is earned faster.Summoning stones at dungeon entrancesKinda on the fence with this.
