Unless they give us a ton of new story with him in ZM, this sudden character arc comes literally out of no where even if you're Kyrian.Pelagos' whole story so far is that he's constantly unsure of himself and full of doubts. To be the Arbiter you have to be certain of every choice you make. This seems disastrous.People saying this is good because Pelagos isn't judgemental don't realize the whole point of being the Arbiter is to be a good judge of character. You literally have to be judgemental.
Irrelevant character gets major role in the universe. Shoddy lore.
So that's where the new 'helm of domination' goes...
Anyone else see that they're wearing the Crown of Wills? 👀
This is just straight b*llsh*t...
like, who cares? About any of the story? its just so bad lol
Looks terrible lmao. I guess they no longer care about the Shadowlands looking like an alien plane of existence or the Arbiter being visually represented as unknowable and above all things. There is no compositional harmony between the shoved-in Pelagos and Arbiter parts either. This screams last-minute.
“The golden one claims a vacant throne. The crown of light will bring only darkness.”
I think he looks awful. And suspect it may have something to do with one of Nzoths whispers: “The golden one claims a vacant throne. The crown of light will bring only darkness.”
Is it just me, or does the core of the model seem really low poly? Especially the arms and hands? The head's not that great either. TBH it look like a pandaria era model, not contemporary. Aspirant Pelagos model has way more fidelity than this one, especially his arms have well defined muscles that are not just texture, but also polygons, while this has seems to have just two logs with painted over texture. Maybe it's the transparency that is giving this odd effect but I doubt that.
This is a weird moment. I have no emotional attachment to Pelagos. I've played through the Kyrian campaign and basically Pelagos came across as someone struggling and not quite there for comic relief, but not exactly there as a shining example of growth. Maybe not a good fit for the Kyrians, but really not much of a good fit elsewhere either. There were some amusingly incompetent moments in Revendreth and some sadness with Ardenweald (okay that choked me up a bit, but not because of Pelagos). So, part of me thinks this is stupid and wants better. The Arbiter is the super-powerful central part of Shadowlands judging souls to their respective covenants and locales! But we know of two Arbiters so far, one imprisoned for going rogue, another nuked by a red bolt of anima. Basically we really haven't seen Shadowlands with a functioning Arbiter in real time. So, in essence, the Arbiter, a mostly meaningless character as far as our interactions, is replaced by Pelagos, a mostly meaningless character. It's like the end of a Brady Bunch episode, next expansion, nothing really changed to characters we care about. Also, best guess from me? Pelagos sacrifices to empower the proto-Jailer model from Zereth Mortis. We encounter the other covenant leader proto-models in the raid, but not Zovaal's proto-model. Since Zovaal was the Arbiter, before being replaced by the Mecha-Arbiter, I suspect the Proto-Arbiter will be infused with Pelagos-ness and become the Super-Proto-Arbiter. Or something. I don't know.
he looks so silly lmao
The whole skipping 9.3 probably put a huge damper on the story, so that now Pelagos doesn't get the character development that was planned with the first thought of 9.2.
Cool.. I have no idea what the arbiter is or why they're relevant but, cool
