During his raid encounter in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, Neltharion uses
Surrender to Corruption
to force players of a specified class to lose control of their character. This "class call" is an infamous mechanic returning from Blackwing Lair, where Nefarian used it to similar effect, causing chaos within the group if not carefully planned for. In both raids, players of the targeted class temporarily lose control, lashing out at enemies and allies alike.
Unfortunately, it seems like this ability may have been too difficult to balance across 13 different classes, as it has now been removed from the encounter journal, suggesting it may be gone entirely. Although an interesting and nostalgic gameplay mechanic, some groups had already theorized stacking classes to only deal with the easier calls, while avoiding bringing classes featuring more deadly ones.
Starting from the timestamp, this video helps explain Neltharion's mechanic, as well as class stacking or avoiding issues it inadvertently created.
Shortly before its removal, however, we datatmined voice lines which would be spoken by Neltharion during each call. Although it looks like the mechanic may be gone, players can still enjoy hearing Neltharion condescendingly call out their class!

If you want to avoid stacking classes, make the call outs worse for every class that has like more than 2 present and there ya go. Didn't have to throw the baby out with the bath water here.
Some classes would be easier to stack than others, what problem did you solve?
You punish guilds that organically don't have a class, class buffs are already a headache to deal with that shouldn't exist, the raid shouldn't be that much weaker just because the mage/monk/druid/dh/priest/warrior couldn't show one day, they removed them once because they were just a sheet you tick, then added them back in and that's exactly what they are, 0 positive gameplay impact, you mark them if you have them and miss them if you don't, that's it. The only time you remember they exist is when you wipe at 1% without one, completely uninteresting, 0 fun.

Honestly it's probably for the best. As the article mentions people would have just developed optimal group comps that excluded the terrible class calls and they'd forever be rebalancing the encounter to deal with people being benched.
Let's also be honest. "Loss of Control" mechanics are awful. The digital version of having the controller knocked out of your hands.
This was that but on steroids. It's annoying enough when it just affects you, but it infuriating when it affects everyone.

this kinda proves how badly the community ties blizzard's hands in terms of making cool %^&*, and then complain when stuff comes out bland to not offend anyone
Things can be cool and interesting without punishing players they can make interesting stuff that doesn’t become easier by not taking a bunch of classes and specs RNG and complete loss of control aren’t cool designs in my book they could put more work in and keep this mechanic so it would be manageable but they don’t want to put in the extra work so they’d rather scrap it they could have class specific stuff that needs to happen or the boss makes the call out happen but that’s too much so don’t blame players for not being okay with RNG and mechanics we can’t control
