How 2020 is it that Blizzard emboldens the hateful vocal group instead of banning them. What group of people are Blizzard going to go after next because of a vocal hate group?
To all those who seem to be kind of depressed by this. This means multiboxing in order to farm plants for example will be extremely harder (may no longer possible) as you need to move and control those alts in order to collect the herbs. You wanna log in with your main in order to help your alt do an old raid while that alt is basically afk? That is fine. At least that is how I understand these changes. You can have various accounts logged in at the same time, you can't replicate your inputs effectively controlling all of them.
WoW doesn't mind if you have 20 accounts as long as your paid up on all accounts you will be using. No different than if you bought an account for 19 friends, the issue Blizzard had was the when your mirroring all your keystrokes and mouse clicks, before that was fine as long as a human was making all the said keystrokes and mouse movements. Now it looks like Blizzard is wanting all human keystrokes & mouse movements on any one account. So you can still multibox, but you'll have to switch back and forth between the accounts.
So the thing we all think of when we hear multiboxing is still dead? Like 20 druids all gathering mats at once must be impossible without some extra software (or at the very least it becomes much slower and much more tedious). This just clarifies that if you wanted to load up one account that's sitting on the AH while also questing on another that'd be fine.Seems fairly reasonable to me tbh
This means those 10 druids farming in eerie unison now get bans. I consider this a win.
I wonder if they realize this is how multiboxers hit one key to cast 5, 10, 20 spells over the same number of instances of WoW. No one is going to pay for 20 accounts to alt-tab between them.
Blizzard you were so close to perfection.
They certainly realize this, that is why they banned that sort of software. That is the only type of "multiboxxing" that people dislike. There is no reason to ban people who RP on multiple accounts, /follow on multiple accounts to do worldquests and such, which is why multiboxxing is not blanket banned.
lol blizzards def of multiboxing is having multiple accounts that follow and that's it. Using keylogers programs and such that multiboxers have been doing will be the ones that get banned in the end.
So many posts here from people who have no idea what they are talking about - it's actually amazing.
What about macro and hotkey software like AutoHotkey and all the mouse and keyboard drivers that let you program keys?Is it only when in combination with multiple accounts or can you get banned for setting up hotkeys and macros in windows?
meaning the only form of multiboxing is alt+ tab and moving everything individually
Funny how this isn't bannable, then again, this is Blizz we're talking about. The same people that decide to suspend an account because of a gameplay mechanic they didn't think of, aka, being able to mail people who have you on ignore.
