This has to be a joke. Something to mess with dataminers, right? No way can this be real and what Blizzard wants.

Yrel's had 30+ years to listen to the words and will of the naaru. The text even says that at first, the orcs and draenei worked together and times were good. But faith turned into fanaticism. Draenei have always had a superiority complex. They're older, more refined, more beautiful, more technologically advanced, and obviously wiser, so of course they know what's best for all these younger savage races. Any resistance efforts are simply the protests of the ignorant and can be easily ignored.Fanaticism at it's finest.
I actually like it a lot. This is for sure more interesting than the original WoD.
Wow they took WoDs awful storyline and made it worse...
so the light really isn't good at all?
I'm really excited for this. It's really refreshing to see a reversal of the roles for once. Can't wait to meet up with old Grommash Hellscream. Not gonna lie though, really disappointed to see that Durotan is dead. Durotan is one of my favourite characters, and I was really hoping we'd meet up with him again in this scenario, but clearly not. I regret reading through this comment section though. Why do people have to complain and moan about literally every aspect of anything? Why can't people just be happy for once? It's a fantasy universe. There is no need to behave so rigidly and take it so seriously. It's Blizzard's lore. They can make any changes they want to.
Ugh... religious fanatics are the laziest trope in the history of writing. Seems like the first new races to come along in a few expansions is going to have the most boring story ever... thanks Blizz :\
That's not actually draenei fault, but naaru, their influence among draenei people, and that very sharp edge of goodness thay have. Looks like Yrel saw visions that could afraid her much and naaru forced her to action to prevent something really bad. Same actually could happen with Velen, but he is much more wise than Yrel.
Now I remembered the "vision" someone had about the Army of the Light leading it's forces against the Great Dark.If Light is this dubious and prone to manipulating people, maybe this vision is false? After all, X'era's vision was obviously false as Illidan didn't become what she thought he would.
As someone who never bought into the cringey faction loyalism (and has played both sides across multiple expansions), this story is just plain stupid. Isn't one of the biggest 'Nos' in story telling to not completely invalidate previous storylines? It's really a stretch to say Yrel (hand chosen by Velen, who fought with the native Orcs after Doomhammer was betrayed and Maraad killed, and teamed up with Grom despite him being the original primary antagonist in order to beat back the demons and rebuild Dreanor) would just suddenly become a zealot. It really just seems like an asspull. Story telling doesn't work like that Blizzard. You can't just have everything be hunky dorey and then completely invalidate your previous expansion and character.
yea death to fanatics
we are hitting fanfiction levels that shouldn't even be possible.
Just think, someone actually makes a living writing this.
But I'm not sure why I think this is a real breath of fresh air. There seems to be a lot of anger here and I'm not sure why.I feel like Blizzard is taking full advantage of the Alternate Universe to create a timeline that's vastly different from our own. Instead of how it was in WoD where everything was the same except the Orcs weren't fel corrupted.I was reminded how at Blizzcon when they announced WoD they mentioned that the Draenei had been basically living in a bubble. Above all of Draenor's savagery. And that the Iron Horde would bring down that bubble and the Draenei might have to embrace the savagery of Draenor to survive.I think this is the savagery they were talking about. They have become like the Botani or Adherents of Rukhmar.People say it doesn't make sense for the Draenei to suddenly act this way but this reflects real world history where a people are attacked by another power have to change their culture to respond to and repel the invaders. Plus it's hardly sudden, it's been made clear that time has flowed differently in the AU and that decades have passed since we were last there and that's plenty of time for a cultural shift. Also I like this new corruptive side to the Light. I was sick of the low effort attitude towards the Light of it always being good by default. As for the Alliance players crying about how this "ruins the Draenei"First, MU Draenei have not changed at all, so chill.Second, now you know what Horde players have been dealing with since Mists of Pandaria so welcome to our world.
I really find this interesting. We've known since the start of Legion that the Light (and the Naaru especially) may not always be the benevolent thing we believed. Naaru have their own goals and agendas, and this may introduce to us the concept of fighting the Light as well of the Void. While I see some points against it, it seems most people are upset because the story is going in a way they do not like, rather than it actually being bad. Remember, Draenei are Eredar: the vast majority of their people joined the Legion, so falling to corruption of some sort is not obscene, be it fel rage or blind fanaticism.
