I personally really enjoy the way they have approached leveling, while leveling in past expansions, i always felt the story never came to a conclusion, and i just did the quest while not even paying attention to the story. This is differently going to make me want to level some more chars.
Just gonna wait for Mephisto to update auto pilot and then I'm gonna follow that. 12 hours seems way too long. We've been seeing 5-6 hour times on beta and even with 20% nerf to wod there is no way it should take 12 hours even if you are not a speed leveler. You should be able to level character to 50 in one afternoon, it's a useless activity that should take as little as possible
That is very disappointing that the cataclysm choice includes all of eastern kingdoms and kalimdor so you only get to touch on the cataclysm zones a bit before reaching 50. I was looking forward to actually getting to experience those end zones as a whole story because originally you could level up the whole 5 levels in just one or 2 zone if you just did a few dungeons along the way. it was so short! They definitely need to split those up so that if you want to have your character'sstory be that they earned their stripes as a random mercenary in kalimdor or eastern kingdoms, then they can do that or if they want their story to go straight to defending the world from Deathwing and the old gods, then they can do that. Tehre should be 3 options for that: 1. Eastern Kingdoms 2. Kalimdor, and 3 Cataclysm.Cataclysm was a 5 level expansion like Pandaria so if they can stretch that one into a whole leveling story, they can do the same with Cataclysm. I guess the stories might not make as much sense for 1 and 2 without Deathwing is some cases but they can add the ones that really really involve Deathwing into the beginning of the Cataclysm storyline.
Well, I'm not looking for speed leveling, but rather the most complete story. I never played Warlords or Pandaria, so I would like to experience the stories there, but with this I'm afraid I'll be out of Draenor too fast. I hope at least Pandaria will allow me to experience most of it.
Mist or draynor
Can I still spam dungeons after pre-patch? If it's possible taking WotL, BC and Cata could be okay
Yes, you are able to mix and match as you wish. You just have to visit Chromie and swap your timeline at your leisure. You also don't need to stop doing stuff how you are currenty and can level the 'normal' way with the expansion level caps if you so choose.
I levelled in wrath on beta (ardenweald was broken and I was bored, also I'd never levelled wrath as alliance). They did actually improve northrend leveling from last time I did it, the objective arrows work reasonably, and if the item you need is given to you at the start of the quest it's also shown in the quest tracker. That said, it is old, it overuses the vehicle mechanic which was new at the time, and intermediate objectives or mob drops are not in the tracker (but that applies for every expansion up to mists, I think)
for those without heirloom weapons maxed, Legion is actually pretty good since the artifact still scales with your levelnot needing to find a second dagger for a rogue every so often shouldn't be underestimated lol
This speed is with questing only right? What about dungeon leveling? For example while BFA/Legion are not the best way to level through quests their dungeons should be the fastest. Only question is if the exp gains are worth enough to keep spamming them.
For those returning or have friends they want to get into wow for Shadowlands I whole heartedly recommend taking the Warlord of Draenor leveling route and not just because of the speed but also for a richer rpg experience. After completing the new starting experience, Exile's Reach, the WoD questing should feel like a more natural and interesting escalation in story from new recruit to amateur commander. WoD deserves A LOT of criticism for many thing but it's leveling experience really isn't one of them. It really was a huge step forward in the leveling experience that managed to feel story focused while not feeling obnoxiously rigid like Mists was criticized for. No "OMG! I don't care what the monkeys were doing! Just please let me play my own character so I can get on with it!" moments I get whenever I have to level back through the Jade Forest again. Bonus objectives, rares and garrison stuff really did a much better job of making leveling feel more like exploration instead of just following quest markers on your map. Also try to rush the barracks to level 2 and get yourself a good bodyguard early. It really puts a smile on ones face once you have a full roaming goon squad of yourself, a bodyguard, a pet, a quest npc and your garrison ability to call in extra troops to stomp rares and clear out quests faster with massive pulls that you traditionally wouldn't be able to do.
The leveling and the soundtrack of Warlords of Draenor was its best and only good part (Also Raids).
What about the time taken for leveling in classic zones?
How does this new leveling experience and allied races work together? Like will the intro quest line for an allied race char be different from what it is now on live? Will you start the chromie experience at a higher level?
Lol, so it's pretty much same leveling speed as bfa
can you still go to every place after you hit level 50 since you cant do shadowlands yet
