It's worth mentioning that they removed almost every darnassus/undercity portal from the game.Getting to these locations now literally requires a mage. You may want to visit these for things like candy/elders, etc. alliance now have to go to exodar then go to darnassus from there (well, assuming THAT portal even still exists, to be honest I haven't checked).Horde as you say just have to zeplin to undercity.
Losing the Vale portal is by far the most punishing in my opinion given how it's the most central location in Pandaria and equally convenient for reaching every zone except the Timeless Isle which has its own device for quick access. The loss could have easily been offset by adding yet another gold sink teleport item and justified it story wise by offering it to players as a way to fund the continued restoration of the Vale, of which we have seen absolutely zero as of yet aside from a Cash Store mount.Although if this theoretical item allowed its holders to see the Vale in its original or a restored state mimicking the original, the sales would probably be substantially higher for all of us players who miss flying over one of the most beautiful locations in all of WoW. Maybe even high enough to counter Blizzard's headstrong attitude towards their precious 'Time Played' metric so long as the price of the item wasn't asinine.
There are two portals to Hellfire Peninsula that i have not been able to confirm if they are being removed. One is in the Troll area of Orgrimmar, up in a tower, and the other is in Sunfury Spire in Silvermoon, in a side room near Lor’themar. I use the one in Sunfury often. Anybody know is those are being removed?
Thanks for the article and tips!Another non-issue "issue" that everyone wants to whine about. I like it. Changes to the world that make you switch up routine are good and can lead to new discoveries. Honestly, if a three minute occasional diversion is what breaks the game for you then I think you should stick to mobile games because MMORPGs aren't for you if your daily schedule is so tight.
Players who have completed Challenge Conqueror: Gold can use the Path of the Scarlet Blade to reach northern Eastern Kingdoms.
Ooooooh, so there was still a way to get to Blasted Lands? I thought that option was completely removed. Then I don't care about the portal removal.:3
Monks can get to Pandaria quickly by using Zen Pilgrimage. There is a portal in their class hall that leads to deprecated Peak of Serenity, which allows to get to Mogushan Vaults and Isle of Giants very fast.
I have to say this is by far top 5 one of the worst design changes implemented in World of Warcraft. I am fully convinced that Activision bean counters are in full control.
I wish they had kept the VoES portal to pandaria, the others are alright to lose
Those interested in pet battles can also activate three more ports from BfA capitals or Dalarn to the three Pet Battle Dungeons. Here is hoping for more pet battle dungeons!
I rarely complain, but I'm still quite pissed about this change. Tiding up portals a bit is smart. But removing CoT or Eternal Blossom is for me stupid.
I scrolled down just to see if Atiesh was mentioned. That was certainly thorough!
when you need a guide/reminder to visit locations....you know the portals were helpful and in palces nobody went to normally enough.
So they have taken away for new players the moment youbwalk through the dark portal for the first time and see that awesome sky box? That was one of the most memorable moments for me.
