Would be great to help newbies, but I don't qualify because I never set a foot into PvP and I'm not interested in raiding at all. I have enough free time to assist newbies, I am a veteran player, actively playing every class in game and if there is any question I maybe can't answer right away, I know ways to find the answer (and that includes raiding and PvP). And as others have said, raiding and PvP are most probably not the first questions a new player wants to have answered.

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I'm really happy there's nothing about account history of penalties listed here. Years ago, I made some mistakes and I'm genuinely a much better person and I absolutely adore new players. I want to be able to help people enjoy the game and discover new things. I hope I will be able to take part in this! I think it's a great system and something Retail SORELY needs.Being on Classic for the last few weeks has really opened my eye to just how different the communities of Classic and Retail are, the former being very helpful and dutiful to their fellow players and the later being accustomed to single-player mindsets (which is due to many factors, but mainly the game's changes over the years). I'm looking forward to this!
I'm pretty sure I can answer *newcomer* questions without ever stepping into Ny'alotha... Newcomers aren't going to be asking me where to stand on Phase 2. Newcomers are going to be asking what level flying is.
This system is a terrible idea. FFXIV has had this exact same system for a while now, and ever since the first month of it being a thing the bulk of people who became a mentor mainly did so because they're after the unique icon displaying above their character. The same thing will happen here in WoW...This will backfire :\
i cant believe they actually included a PvP rated arena ahciev, god job blizzy!
This is actually very cool! Can't wait to be a mentor!
Nice change!Like the way they covered nearly all playstyles... Mythic+ OR raid OR PvP OR solo vision content. If you cry cause you don't get 1 of these... You shouldn't be a guide. The 3 character max achievement shouldn't be a problem :D
Those new requirements are silly. Anyone can buy AotC or Keystone Conquerer or a high rank in PvP. It would be way better if it was more allround. Like a certain amount of Achievementpoints. Played for more than 5 years. Collected over a 100 mounts and pets. Reach lvl 120 with Horde and Alliance characters. Explored every zone in the game. Have the Loremaster title. Professions mastery etc etc.
Neat system. I hope I can help people with it.
To everyone here trying to "gatekeep" being a mentor, the toxic tone in your comment suggests you wouldn't be suited as a mentor to any new player anyway, honestly.I'm sure a new player would appreciate some elitist "mentor" saying "if you can't do beyond LFR uninstall go play fortnite or something."Did any of you actually read what this Guide role is about? You're answering questions in a newcomer chat, and I'm quite sure they won't be asking how to clear a mythic raid without dying. Once again, this community is taking the simplest things way too seriously and trying to turn it into some prestigious achievement. Also, I bet anyone complaining that LFR is too easy has yet to defeat N'zoth on LFR with a group of random players.
Anyone who is elligible and spends a chunk of time supporting should get the old GM cosmetic transmorg. :D
