Honor gear being gated behind renown is horrible for new players coming into season 2 or people wanting to rerole or switch to an alt.If they really wanted an equal start to the season for all then the honor gear should scale to 226ilvl to allow new players/alts/rerollers the time to farm out the gear so they are on close to equal footing at the start of the season. Instead there will be over a 10ilvl difference which to those that know how much of a gulf that is in the current season, so new players will get crushed and that is bad for the ladder. We are supposed to be encouraging new players into pvp and not buying boosts all this system enforces is that the first week in the season is the most important as if you dont get to the rating you want as soon as possible it will only get exponentially harder the longer you leave it due to lack of catch up systems.I will be pushing for duelist the first week and i feel sorry for those that will be queuing into me with such a massive gear disadvantage and there is nothing they can do about it.
https://www.dataforazeroth.com/collections/achievementsAnd then input duelist into the field. You’ll see that SL s1 had comparatively same amount of players earning that metric as bfa s4. And although there is a fair point to mention that this is opt-in and % of profiles earning something will naturally wane as time goes on do increase of total accounts/characters ever and lose of data over the years.*I will point out, it would be immensely helpful if the site operator could just crawl through the armory and/or raider io sites to get a better parameter.*But back to the point you can see that bfa s1, another season that had high participation because pvp gearing was wayyy better than through m+ or uldir for the beginning months. And as for bfa s4 (and sl s1)? Well you can thank the rise of boosting communities to the public’s notice. Yes they always had existed but gallywix throughout bfa and then its remnants of phoenix (which fizzled out recently), along with several other groups really helped push up payers to get metrics. So much that blizzard had to adjust the deflation occurring in the 2s bracket in order to help out people that were not utilizing that way to play the game.Lastly, it was insanely dumb for blizz to allow utilization of the pvp vendor if you did not have a current win at X rating for that week in the specific bracket you had your rating. Loads of people hitting 2400 in 3s or RBGs and then going into 2s, causing the mess we saw. Not to mention that with no rating decay, you just hit the breakpoints (with maybe 3-4 weeks of pvp vault loot) and coast for the rest of the season to lazily get conquest/honor from random bgs in order to upgrade your gear for a bracket you probably hadn’t touched in over a month or more. Also good to anyone not near 220 (even though gear treadmill resets soon. The floor will increase and what you had if you are now below the new floor will (cause you were below currently) will definitely make it an uphill battle. Best to start early and go hard. Not to mention you’ll get some good practice in too!
The amount of honor you need to grind to actually upgrade gear is way too high, this change only affects pve players ( IE they won't feel obligated to pvp for gear now ) but for actual PvP players, there's no single improvement in this.
So Do we have to buy new conquest gear, or do we just get to upgrade what we have?
So returning suckers trying to get full honor from the first week to start S2 on an "equal" footing will get 203ilevel (and that's no life levels of honor grinding for nothing) and will be "competing" against 227+ ilevel players. Frankly that's a 22+ ilevel skill issue. Want to start PVP on new alt? Screw you and your alt. TLDR: If you don't already have full S1 Duelist don't bother with PVP in WOW, period.Or go paying for boosts on top of the monthly sub if getting conned by blizzard alone isn't doing it for you anymore.9.1 patch notes couldn't be a better ad for not returning to WOW if they tried.
if you mythic raid at a casual level, this doesn't matter at all. if you're at a competitive level then you should stop crying and be used to doing everything you can for raid already. duelist gives maximum heroic ilvl, but that's still much lower than mythic
Well I'm just gonna cancel my sub if they bring back this stupid pvp ilvl scaling BS, they couldn't let pvp be good for more than one patch could they.
Why to same system blizzard don't use for M+. Gear dropped in M+ have higher item level in M+ dungeons ?
People with actual mythic pve gear should get one shot by people with pvp gear that would be a better fix. No reason pve gear even on mythic lvl should stand a 2 ability press time to react before dying.
Such a silly decision to make such a big gaps. 13ilvl (6 lulz) - is nothing. It not appears to be WOD kind of gear in 9.1.It could be if it looks like at least:Honor gear 197 - always 240 in pvpNon rated - 220 - 247 in pvp1400 - 226 - 250 in pvp1600 - 233 - 253 in pvp1800 - 240 - 256 in pvp2100 - 246 - 259 in pvpA fair for pve players? You, pvpers, don't have a cap behind weekly grind of gear from raids/m+ compare to PvP. 550 conquest in a week and if you are not lucky you have to wait 4 weeks to buy a weapon. Nice. You will be full honor 197(210)-203(216) which even in a current state - is a very big gap compare to duelists. Imagine current duelist will get 246(259) weapon in a first week from vault, head/chest/legs in a second/third. And in these 4 weeks they will be much farther behind you. Skill issue? Not sure.I had too few time to play this season. Played arene once a week and pushed 1600 in the 3rd week, I didn't feel a big gap beetwin me and even duelists. Then I did a month skip. And saw that avarege players get full PvP sets from vaults/weekly caps. And before I get full set I dropped to 1400, and after few weeks only came back to 1600 and still can't get higher.I can't say it's my bad because I have so bad timetable to play and it's impossible to find adequate mate with same schedule.People who play once a week who have a time for 1 vault chest and conquest cap are don't bother to get high don't matter they play good or not.
why the **** is there so much ilvl difference between unranked and duelist gear? almost 30. Is not fair for me.
I have often wondered why the gear cap for rated PVP is not capped at rival, similarly to how the mythic + gear cap is at lvl 15 KSM. Duelist is more closely related to those crazy people that push 20-25 keystones imo. so I was always curious as to why rated PVP didn't do something along those lines.
