For me, Frost with Cold Heart / Runic Attenuation / Frostscythe / Frostwyrm's Fury and Breath of Sindragosa feels very fun and way better than 7.3.5 Frost. The way the talents are balanced now, with many rows being a matter of personal choice (say, between Fury and Storm, and also RA/Horn) is very great and gives more freedom to the players.Holding Cold Heart and Frostwyrm's Fury until the very last second of Pillar is exciting, it's a very unique mechanic and it's something that keeps the player on their toes so they can do the maximum possible damage with Pillar (empowered by spending runes) and the two talents. Not to mention that, by doing so, your average Breath length won't need to be as long, which enables for more flexibility and mobility during mechanics. It's still not as fun as Fury Warrior, though, and their movement spells such as Charge and Heroic Leap make me consider the idea of rerolling for more effectiveness in expeditions, BGs, M+ and raids.
*shrug* still happy with it so not complaining.
dk frost is weak, slow, useless. and more, fallen crusader uptime was 70% and now 44%. solid steath nerf. blizzard hate us.
I like how they complain Frost is resource starved but ignore talking about Frozen Pulse, which thrives on resource starvation.Personally I would love to see Breath of Sindragosa combined with Frozen Pulse, maybe a passive of breathing as you fight but also an activatable ability for burst damage when you need it.Or make Frozen Pulse into the artifact's crystalline blades stuff but keeping the no-runes auto-attack procs. This would free up two talent slots, with the removal of Frozen Pulse and Icecrap. ;)
Did I read “icecrap”?
I have a build with nearly 40% haste on gear and even then frost is slow, lmao. Spec definitely needs work.
Rip 2h Frost DK
I know this is current state frost DK but does anyone if large future changes are planned besides the obvious tuning that is to come
Frost died when they removed the 2h - hoped it might come back in BfA but now realize it's fully dead. Moving on to another, fun spec to play.

"You Didn’t Talk about Azerite TraitsBecause the Frost-specific ones all look like they’re boring damage increases and won’t add anything interesting in terms of decision making."This makes me laugh actually some do affect decision making, talent-wise, I have a trait called Icy citadel: when PoF expires its increases my Str by 275 for 6 seconds. duration is increased by 2 seconds for each oblit/frostscythe crit during PoF.now that makes Icecap look more tempting, but imagine it during Obliteration window with all those Killing machine procs granting auto crits to Obliterate.or Echoing Howl: when HB is empowered by Rime (so the only time you use HB really) each HB causes a secondary burst of frost damage to nearby enemies, combine that with avalanche talent I have enough passive cleave damage I don't feel the need to employ frozen pulse or frostscythe.I also have one called Killer Frost that enables my frost strikes to be able to grant killing machine also.which combos nicely with the first trait above.personally, I would wait until 120 for any real thought on builds and rotations as from what I have tested all the classes play different to varying degrees to what we have in pre-patch right now
Will still stick to Machinegun ( I really, fondamentally hate the Breath playstyle... I didn't rolled as a Dk to be a mage in plate ), but I will regret a lot of things from Legion. Still, the class can pull some numbers, even in Machinegun... So, it's "ok" for now. Hoping that it became slow only because we enter a new expac and that it will only go up from there.Edit : Btw...Press F for 2H.
I feel as though we could almost be back to a haste/mastery style of play. This style was present in cataclysm, although may not have been as represented, it was how I specced my do then. Currently I feel that we are in decent place, assuming the gear optimization also supports that.I will be attempting to continue a haste/mastery style, with my priority being: haste enchants/gems, and trying to game the system to give me more haste as often as possible.
I literally just feel in love with Frost in legion. I always felt that Frost was far too slow and resource starved since I started playing back in WoTLK and we go back to that terrible system. *sigh* well it was fun.
which gear set is the dk in the photo wearing?
I'm concerned about the upcoming changes in 8.1 to DK. Unholy loses a big talent, and Frost is losing CC with the removal of "frozen center" for a new PvP trait that says it stuns your target for 4 seconds only after they are hit 5 times by your remorseless winter. Frost is already tricky to play in arena due to low survivability only having Pact or warlock cookies should you pair with one. Death strike just feels like a waste of a swing at the moment.Blizzard says they have more to announce concerning the spec though, we will see. I'm sad at the moment because they are negatively tweaking both classes that I play Frost DK and Disc priest. All we can do is wait and see but losing that CC hurts, being left with a 45 sec cooldown death grip and a one time asphyxiate makes me wonder how it's going to be possible to kill a mage.
