Most annoying event ever. People just camping the spawns
In regards to getting the achievement for killing the elementals out in the world... I killed a Wind one in BT and got the buff. I killed a Water one in DB about 10min later... no buff. I killed a Fire one about 35min later... no buff. I killed an Earth one about 3min later... no buff. Any clue why I didn't get an achievement? I killed them all within 5 yards of me, and I had tagged all of them.
I have no idea Pent. I am sure you know how much the rifts are being camped on good old Area 52. >.<I hope it gets fixed.
ahh! Good tip, thanks :) Will try it after ICC tonight.
Man this is a boring pre expan event so far. pre tbc, we had Doom lord Kazzak attacking us. pre wotlk, infected crates, ppl turning into zombies, scourge stones all over the place with mobs spawning in all zones. This one... a couple of elementals here and there you got to go out of your way to look for...Unless the next phase of this event actully picks up its not gonna even compare to the last few. They really should go all out and make it pure chaos rather then a controlled event, screw the baby whiners.
Don't think me a QQer, I love Cataclysm and it's my favorite Expansion yet (Though Death Knight's really made WotLK for me. Proof Blizzard can add and balance truly new things once in a while)...But Zombie's were cooler. No event could have filled me with more satisfaction then shutting down Grom'grol for three days with one ghoul run.
I've been seeing strange things other than the rifts. Yesterday in Desolace and today in Badlands I saw sooty eruptions. They are not targetable. They just spew soot and smoke from the ground. Odd.
Well there's about a month til cata.. so i'm guessing about a week :P
I'm not so sure that the rifts opening on the hour is correct. Last night on Bloodhoof-US the rifts were, according to the in game clock, opening at 10 minutes before the hour (XX:50) meaning that if the rifts disappeared in 10 minutes, anyone looking for them on the hour exactly would be out of luck.Every rift I closed had at least one other player camping the site, so it doesn't have to be exclusive. Also, I can verify that you only have to be present for the rift closing in order to get credit for the rift's closure. I landed in Zul'Drak last night to help close the fire portal in Thrym's End just as a player there AoE'd down the last elemental. I got credit even though I hadn't yet attacked a single elemental.
