the Karens of wow are coming to get mad at WOW for adding something... whats the point in getting mad about something added
I have little issue with her being blind and more with her being called Khan. Khan is a male title, her actual title should be khanum. This is like calling a female character a King.
I'm deaf, not blind!
This is nice
Omg, I knew the comment section was gonna be a sh*tshow. Why people get so unreasonably upset when minority groups whether it's ethnic, racial, sexual, or now the disabled get representation in media is beyond me. Every time it happens literally no one is satisfied. On the one hand people say it feels forced and that it's only there to fill some kind of imaginary quota, on the other the rest are upset that the representation doesn't go far enough as if it would be reasonable or realistic for everyone to be deaf! Just take it for what it is and move on. I am sure many deaf folks looking at this would go "oh that's neat, our community got a bit of representation in that one video game lots of people play" and be genuinely happy about it. Why can't the rest of all y'all just let it go!Don't get pressed that you are made to experience someone who is not like you and also don't be a woke snowflake acting more offended than the people who are actually being targeted and who are more than capable of making up their own minds.Just let it go.
THIS is how you be inclusive. With something real that real people experience. Not imaginary things for attention. HINT: Body Type only means things like Tall, Short, Skinny, Stocky, Muscular, etc. Those would also be cool if they were added, like how Dracthyr's Draconic form has.
Nothing wrong with characters that are deaf. Especially since there are characters that are mute or blind (even if the 'blind' characters are usually cheesing it with extra-sensory magic vision like Demon Hunters). But c'mon, let's not forget that it's Azeroth. It has teeth, it has claws, it's a world of carnage and conflict. Players in the real world would really like to project their priveleged sense of comfy into this setting, but all they're doing is overlooking the fact that the world itself operates on a different set of rules. Yeah, there's dragons. Eldritch gods. Magic. All that. It's all dangerous, and because of that lifespans tend to be short on Azeroth. Game of Thrones was popular because it put a lens over this kind of genre and looked at how gritty and visceral it really would be in a setting of swords and sorcery. So the character is deaf.AND a hunter.AND the leader of a clan of Centaur. It'll be impressive to see how they pull it off, but right now it's really taxing the limits of how dangerous the world is or how skilled this character is at surviving it. Not that it can't happen, it's just that the presentation is making a lot of huge claims that will require a sensible pay off.Which Blizzard does not have a great track record of lately.
Why would a deaf hunter be the leader...wouldn't they just be a weaker hunter then the rest that can hear prey? Something that depending on the terrian really helps?
People not just being like "Hey thats cool for deaf people c:" and arguing about this is so mind boggling.People who are different than you existing isn't an agenda, its just showing different kinds of people.
Day 97 of asking weather or not there are any different interactions between the centaur and the Tauren or the issues with them are ever addressed in Dragonflight, since we seem to be hanging out with them now.... I hate that we are just forgetting lore. The Tauren don't get any new an exciting lore anyway and the little they have we just sweep under the rug.Could be worse, could be gnomes, but still.
Quite interesting. Happy to see more changes in character development.
