From the sound of it it seems that they've been problematic for awhile. Destroying evidence and trying to hinder the federal prosecution isn't the actions of someone who cares about justice, it's the actions of someone who's a glory hound, and is now trying to cry victim that they didn't get to look good. Not saying Big companies need to be protected, but it doesn't mean that California should be acting like it's above the federal government. So I guess I don't really like either side, but whatever.
And there's old Kotick throwing around his blood money
well at least there is one good thing I can say about Gavin Newsom now
Another reason to add to the list of one of if not the worst Governor in the country.
Someone check open record donations..
I agree with previous responders, keep the politics out of wow. Wowhead writers should stick to what they know and not write on politics. If you are a guide writer, then stick to that. Unless you have a history as a political correspondent, you probably don't have any business writing on political topics. As to their point that we can choose to ignore, we can, but you still flood our discords with your non game related content. Stop it. Anyone who wants to know, is fully aware of how to find the information, reported by news agencies that can get or request comments from all participating parties. NO POLITICS in our GAMES. That what facebook is for :P lol
Oh no! I am not that much interested in this article.Guess I have to skip it.
I know that a lot of people want to see Activision/Blizzard pay for the sexual harassment things that have gone on. It is important to remember that these allegation where initially being investigated on the Federal level first and that the California DFEH only got involved once those Federal attorneys left their Federal jobs and joined the California Department. This conflict of interest is what tanked the states case from the get go. At this point the DFEH has bungled this case so badly that even if it were to go before a California Superior Court and by chance Activision were to be found guilty there is most certainly grounds for appeal and probably getting any verdict overturned by the State Supreme Court or most certainly the Federal Circuit Court. Newscom actually seems to be trying to reign in an out of control California agency for once.
Please do not stop to post about political issues regarding Activision and blizzard. I find it very important to know about developments in the company and it has a huge impact on my consideration to play their games. I did not get the feeling your reporting style was biased. I don't think turning a blind eye is a good idea. I don't think people should be afraid to talk about moral grounds and think about it. Society can only grow from it. There are not only 2 opnions, these things come in many shades of grey. If you don't judge people on their opinion but listen, you can actually only learn.I do not think that it is okay to attack each other here, in which case moderators might need to step in.I agree with other commenters that if you want to ignore politics for whatever reason, please just skip these postings and don't ask for them to be removed for everybody. That is not fair.
The only thing political about the OP is the comments made by most people commenting on it. I like to be informed on these things for I believe it is somewhat game related, but I probably won't waist time looking for these stories on my own through other sources, as I do by reading all the comments people make to any Wowhead article I read. This may be the first time I voiced my opinion about anything in these forums, but I don't understand why people need to post negativity about every and anything on Wowhead pertaining to WoW or the producing company. Weather I agree with anything or not, I like to be informed and sometimes learn something or at least get a kick out of reading the comments regardless how misinformed or dimwitted some (most?) commenters comments are.I understand everybody has an opinion and are (should be?) free to speak it, but why should anybody's opinion dictate anything about something they have no control of such as a website or company. If you don't like an article, don't or stop read-ing it. Being forced to see headlines by bots, stop using them. I don't like anything other than most news, stories, or information listed under the Live, PTR, or Blizzard tags, but I don't complain about seeing, nor read anything with the Classic, TBC, especially Diablo tags other than the headlines, usually.Sorry if I enjoy using this website as is for my needs and others apparently don't, I'm just voicing my opinion on how well this website fulfills some or most users' expectations, mine at least, and need to change nothing about what it reports or how it does it. I do suffer as others may seem to, but defiantly not the same way. Oh well.
Ah they eat their own...
What bothers me the most is the excuse about spending the taxpayer's money. But the people getting abused and discriminated by Activision-Blizzard were taxpayers as well, and the State should and must protect them, according to the existing legislation.Another one is the "trying to embarrass the companies publicly". Well, let them be embarrassed. How else are they supposed to correct their behavior? If there are no consequences, there will be no improvements. These 2 aspects are just paper thin excuses, lacking objectivity and logic, that don't stand in a serious debate. It is an obvious attempt to minimize the importance of the entire phenomenon, because it is a phenomenon, what happens in these large companies.
I know that public shaming and embarrassment are in vogue now, but things like this have the same problems as any type of vigilante justice via the press. And these lawyers are evidently playing very Saul Goodman with ethics and professionalism. Justice via social media has no formal process for discerning the truth, and no way to determine the correct extent, nuance, and biases of the whistleblowers, who are normally disgruntled ex-employees. You'll never get the full picture. Then someone with a very holier-than-thou stance regards this reckoning with: "Tell me you support abusers at work without telling me you support abusers at work", which just exemplifies the problem. People don't want justice - especially on social media, they don't even know what justice is.They want vengeance.
lmfao why was my comment saying we shouldn't talk politics removed for "being political" while everyone that started the conversation about politics' comments still up
