Blizzard has recently started selling gold... coins. Well not Blizzard directly— but
DC Direct
, the people who make the official Warcraft
action figures
, have created exclusive sets for both the
Horde
and
Alliance
.
Each coin features a major faction figure and is made with the actual metal the coin represents. The Alliance set comes with a 24 karat gold-plated coin featuring King Varian Wrynn, a sterling-silver plated coin with King Magni Bronzebeard, and a copper-plated coin adorned with High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind.
The Horde set features Thrall on the gold-plated coin, Lady Sylvanas on the silver and Cairne Bloodhoof on the copper. Each set comes in black wooden box with a glass window and contains a non-removable commemorative metal plaque with your faction emblem.
You can find out more about the coins on the
DC Direct site
, or you can order them from
Corner Store Comics
and
Entertainment Earth
!

$70 bucks for some coins?
One is 24 karat gold-plated and the other is sterling-silver plated, that's probably close to the going cost for this type of metal.
It's not ethical to tell children a lie like this.
It costs pennies on the dollar to apply gold plating only a few atoms thick. One of gold's characteristic qualities is that it is very ductile and it can be easily cast in an extremely thin layer.
The pins on an obsolete microprocessor contain more gold, and those are of such marginal value they're not even worth it to junk dealers to not toss in the trash with the rest of the unit.
