anyone one else curious if there was a reason those 12 workers did not get chosen to get turned permanent? no one knows if they did anything bad or not

Thank you for engaging in this debate thoughtfully and intelligently! Thanks for the insight into this. I live in Canada, and am fairly detached from the video-game work environment in the US so it was odd for me to see this information about the temp worker status, and with people being strung along for so long. Really sucks to see how exploitative the games industry can be (I assume similar situations happen in Canada, but I *think* our labour laws tend to be a lot stricter).
I think more than likely those non hired permanent had some issues as employees, otherwise they would likely have kept them on, especially with the giant microscope on activision/blizz right now.....a further thought, I dislike how everyones knee jerk reaction is always believe/support the little guy/woman, kid etc, you all have 0 idea what any of these employees were like and all I have to say is that more often then not most people...especially younger people have crappy work ethic, and ive experienced a loy of employees that freaking needed to go!
It's yet to be seen if any of the moves to unionize have influenced any decisions by ABK. Honestly until the vote to establish the union is actually held and the union officially organized I wouldn't expect ABK to change many if any of their decisions
Anyone who thinks this is bad should try working as a chef.
Signs temp contract, gets a very generous end of contract deadline. Turns to the media for attention to highlight they were not worthy of being hired while 500+ other staff was. Imagine having that many temps get the dream and get permanent employment and you did not make the cut. How bad must your work ethic be? Pretty bad for only 12 to not make it. You know when your position ends, you can now start looking for work, and scale down your efforts - not going to result in a job. can now stop try-harding, or more likely, fail-harding and get employment elsewhere, with likely another temp contract.
