Makes no sense, the Primus said he scribed the runes on Zovaal, so they wouldn't be on the prototype.
interesting. :)
That prototype automaton has the same domination runes Zovaal has. So either Primus has lied about him carving the flesh of Jailer with dom runes, or there's a cycle which contains that Jailer always betrays, other covenant leaders catch him and subdue him, and jail him to the maw and we kill him, he turns into an automaton once defeated and we dump his automaton remains to Sepulcher for an eternal cycle. Since they're all getting 3D printed in Sepulcher... Maybe this is the damn cycle that First Ones created, which has to be broken. You know, from the start of Warcraft Lore.Maybe all Sargeras' blunder about "cycle nears completion" points to this cycle. Maybe he realized this cycle and by killing Azeroth, he thought he would break the cycle.Because if he broke the cycle, we wouldn't go to Shadowlands, Zovaal wouldn't capture key elements and brings his own demise, let alone trying to use Azeroth's soul to remake the universe and failing in that process. See, I partially made sense about Shadowlands story. :P
Honestly, if this is what is gonan happen to the jailer, at the end of the raid its pretty bad... Considering how they are retconning LOTS of warcraft lore, for a Villian we have met in one expansion just to kill off at the end? Seems like a huge waste of time
He is terryfing ngl. Actually creepy compared to the Handsome Squidward.
Has anyone noticed that apart from the head and cloak, the Prototype of War looks an awful lot like the Defect in Slay the Spire?
Was the idea not that the Primus carved the runes on Zovaal? So why would his prototype have them too?
This definitely is the dead husk. So since we don’t see his prototype, Was Zovaal a prototype all along and malfunctioned? Really had a lot more hope for wow’s Morgoth instead of pantheons being all robots made by the first ones.
with the way he is sitting in that position, it looks he's dead so maybe they some how suck the anime/life out of Zovaal but now I need to know more
Everyone is missing a possibility due to Wowhead steering the conversation in the original article to be one thing specifically and so many commenters saying it looks like Zovaals corpse. My theory:This is not the prototype, I agree that makes no sense as a lot of commenters are pointing out. But it also would be too simple to be his corpse since people are skipping over a lot of Zovaals dialogue leading up to this point. I think that this is the empty husk Zovaal will leave behind during the fight with him, since he constantly talks about wanting to "remake" reality to fix the flaws of the First Ones. So I am betting he makes himself a new body during the fight (Mythic only phase maybe?) and dumps the one he was made with. So in a sense, yes, this is his "corpse". But corpse is a very human way to think about it, since he could just exist as a non-physical entity and put himself into something else. Think about how Sire Deth exists currently (who is MIA still after escaping), he was exactly this form of being after we defeated him in the CN raid.
Model used in flashback.
I'm confused as to why this is theorised as The Jailer's corpse after we defeat him. The Jailer we see is fleshy. This model looks very much like stone, or metal. Has the ball in his midsection for movement. Granted Jailer is wearing a belt thing, but I just don't see this as his corpse."But the runes!" feels a lot like "But the number of fingers!" argument against the Primus. If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to 'fess up, but currently I'm gonna say no to that theory.
You all missing the BIGGER PICTURE.... this is the Arbiter prototype... the reason its not active is because Zovaal doesnt have the power to activate it yet. Why is there Domination runes on him you ask? Thats simple... Zovaal carved them on this guy so that he serves him forever! This is probably how Zovaal intends to "remake" reality, by forging a new Arbiter that is bound to his will. The only other option is this is how the Eternal Ones look before becoming what they are now. (This about how the "Curse of Flesh" created the Dwarfs from the Earthen). Perhaps something along these lines gave the Eternal Ones flesh and altered there appearance. And when they die, after a long period of time there flesh decays and they become a skeleton. Thus you have a robo-zovaal.
