Anyone claiming Legion was more alt-friendly than Shadowlands is clearly did not play Legion at launch. Artifact knowledge not actually being a catch-up system and AP being locked per spec, plus order hall table missions being a mandatory part of progression, were FAR worse than having to get anima for cosmetics. They changed some things later to make it better but this is still a far better system than Legion in terms of leveling alts.
You cannot summon these pets on characters that aren't a part of the covenant that you bought it from...
Why is this article still wrong 6 hours later? Necros get Khaliiq companion.
cant be caged or sold. cant even summon them on a toon from another covenant.. so lame.
I got jiggles earlier on my necorlord and he is mega cute. But when I swapped to my night Fae rogue I could see him in the pet journal but not summon him. I hope this restriction will be removed sometime
It's weird seeing people say things have never been better for alts when I maintained 10 max level alts through Legion, and 20 through BfA, and for this one I just can't face more than 3, and even those are now rotting wherever I left them. There was a good analysis on this website a few days ago which went through the many downsides. The anima farm is just horrendous. It's basically just WQs. Doing them on one toon is bad enough, with the crappy travel time, fussy design, over-use of mini-games and vehicles, bugged ones that still don't work...no thanks.
Al this discussion about alts... it's all pointless anyway when you can't USE the pets on alts in other covenants? What do I mean by "use"... since you've already learned it?You cannot summon it, so you can't see it & cannot use pet stones on it unless you're in the covenant. You cannot even put it on your pet battle team to use it/level it if you're not in the covenant. So alt friendly!
100% agree, to see the full story it's worth having four - one in each Covenant. Keeping up four+ is a JOB. I don't know how that can be changed as it's a choice to have multiple characters, but it really sucks the fun out of game when it feels like work. 4x farming anima, 4x dailies and daily callings, 4x weekly quests (Torghast, PvP, PvE dungeons/raid, the Maw, World Boss, etc.) Not to mention rep farming, crafting, for fun pvp/dungeons, plus gearing for raiding/pvp/dungeons. Some overlap obviously but it's alot of time IF you try to keep all current.Never had this issue in past expansions with a multitude of alts and I'm glad there is a variety of activities, but so many seem to be "Have to do" versus optional.------As for the pets - unlocking the right to buy a pet for 1500 anima + grateful offerings is not really a "gift" for hitting a renown level, imho. And 100% agree the Night Fae is a real rip off as there are already THREE that look like that, just a recolor. I mean if you collected all four and it did something amazing maybe, but just having a different color - lazy and a bit of a cheat for the Night Fae.Just roll an alt. This expansion has been the most alt-friendly expansion since MoP. ^_^It's definitely worth experiencing the covenant campaign of all 4.Define "alt-friendly"?If you mean purely leveling, then sure. Anything beyond that though, nope. Certainly not for Covenant upgrades, Torghast unlocks, gearing or conduit collection.
Oh look, another follower which needs to level up and will bring down the level of troops. Kyrian suffering party continues, yay.
FYI, the Kyrian Ruffle pet even has his own little baby Larion mount he rides. So cute!
