This is just glorious.I love that Blizzard is disowning how super serious some people take raiding by doing stuff like this.People will clear this, there will be a world first race, but I love that Blizzard has pointedly come out and said essentially "y'all... that's your thing, figure it out! This is our story content and if you guys wanna take it super serious it's at your own risk, GLHF!"
I hope this is just them testing it out for the time being. I feel racials shouldn't change, even if race does. I'd also prefer if race wasn't randomized, but rather placed on a racial priority of most likely races to have participated in the battle. So Horde playing Alliance races should be Humans, Gnomes and Dark Iron Dwarves. Alliance playing Horde races should be Trolls, Goblins and maybe Nightborne/Belf. If it's a class not covered by those races, then it can choose the most likely racial candidate.
For anyone saying this is a 'terrible idea' I wouldn't see why, You're supposed to experience the opposite faction experience, so it wouldn't make any sense to walk around with Arcane or Berserk as an "Alliance Player".
Doesn't this actually make it harder for Alliance? If Jaina is going to the final boss of the raid, then we can assume it's the hardest encounter. This would mean Horde gets to choose their races for the fight while Alliance has to deal with randomized set.
I don't care about the racials....I still can't believe I'm going to have to turn into an ally and be forced to kill Rasta. I know its a "flashback," but it still kinda hurts. They better make this super obvious its Horde players experiencing a flashback. I don't want to just queue up and then poof I'm an ally killing Horde. I want some damn narrator saying, "then the alliance did this and they did that and they killed him and blah blah blah." I'm sure the Alliance don't want help fight their own either...even if nobody important dies on their end.
Jaina as final boss for alliance players? Oh, I really dig this "declare your allegiance" expansion!I guess there is still a hope that this flashback nonsense is optional for transmog and achievement hunters.
this could be interesting if they mix the human racial into the encounter it self with jaina
Who cares, racials are not important in pve content :D
Not sure where all of you got the idea that racials are even vaguely relevant in PvE enough to matter for 3 bosses of a raid, but please stop playing this game ASAP. Y'all are delusional.
kinda expected, having to fight jaina as a orc i guess, i will enjoy more her as a final encounter since she literally wins i will just witness how she humiliated the horde, i don't mind having the achievement "defeat jaina proudmoore" when in lore is the first raid boss that actually wins by gaining time and escaping. Thanks, blizz. a this will make me remember fighting the lich king =)For the lord admiral!
OK, this is really cool. I wonder if my druid would turn Worgen or Night Elf. Can it change each week? Some weeks I get Shadowmeld, and others Darkflight? I like when this happens with merc queue for PVP, but you always turn into the same race. If it is random, that'll be so fun!
Hmm. Each 'Flashback' segments is going be in their own LFR queue.Interestingly enough, this would actually allow blizzard to use a shared LFR queue for these segments - mixing Horde and Alliance players in the same raid.
hhmm a change like that might mean that world first guilds might have to fix a specific setup in order to have the "right" ally racials for their WFs ....... it might be good if these people assist and report the actual problems they will have with the alliance racials :/ and the huge difference between the factions .
