.5s for a lot of these is nothing. It's half the melee GCD, which will be reduced by haste (according to a friend on alpha). Yall need to chill. They're doing this to improve PvP (which is currently press all CDs in 1 GCD and burst a dude, not ok) -- so long as important things such as major defensives or kicks are not placed on the GCD, it should be fine.
Y'all stupid. The .5 are abilities that take longer than that to activate. They off gcd by the time they even go off. Charge, disengage, leap, your ass is in transit that long or more.
But I dont wanna play FF14....
Those who think this change will not have a dramatic effect on game play are the kind of bad players that benefit from having everything slowed down. You guys think everyone is overreacting, but the truth is you are simply unable to comprehend what these changes actually mean for competent players. As a wise man once said "Don't hate the player player-hater hate the game".You insult yourselves.
Finally. It's tiresome watching people pop all their cooldowns and attempt to 1-shot before you can react. It's not fun, it's killing PvP.
I don't understand all the hate this gets. I actually like this. Not to mention it's going to do wonders in PvP which seems to be a big focus in this expansion. The only people I can imagine being mad at this is furytards that love popping 32CDs and blowing up someone in a single GCD with no counterplay. Good riddance.
Welcome to the term GLOBAL cooldown. So many people wanted vanilla and the “good” days of WoW, well here you go. Personally I think it will be better for reacting to other players movements/abilities in pvp and will make raiders have to be more precise in their actions and reactions to a fight. We will see just how many people hate change with these tweaks to the game. Lol
I swear every time I learn something about how to play better Blizzard turns around and nerfs it.
why the @#$% are we balancing a game for PvP?jesus christ blizzard either do separate balance for both, or leave it #$%^ing be!lets just cater to the small PvP audience, and *!@# over the vast vast VAST majority of PvE players.PvP has been dead at a competitive level for a long ass time, plenty of games do it better, so just let it be already.I don't say this often or lightly, but these GCDs will LITERALLY make me quit the game, unless i'm playing a haste heavy class like shadow, but that's very #$%^ing unliekly.
Well. Lets hope by the time beta rolls around they've pulled their heads out of whatever sand they have them now and revert this stupidity. Unless they like having people unsubscribe and go to better mmos, if thats the case sure. Their game their rule, if they want people to not play it fine by me, ill oblige.
World of Warcraft is quite literally the worst kind of game to play for competitive player vs. player combat. This is not in any way up for debate. Making drastic changes to game play to solve the problems for one of the smallest groups in the player base is beyond asinine.
Charge & Heroic Leap on the GCD would probably feel bad. I haven't seen how it plays but if it makes the class feel less mobile it should probably be reverted. The smoothness of being able to zip around the place and perform actions makes playing Warriors feel great. Mobility is a large part of what defines Warriors as a class. I imagine Warriors wouldn't feel as mobile if they run into a GCD every time they leap or charge a target. Demoralizing Shout & Dancing Rune Weapon (defensive CD's) Just don't belong on the GCD. It is a change I can't believe they even wasted time with.
The whole one shot macros argument is absolutely absurd. These concepts affect literally a tiny fraction of the player base. Again, how many people actually even PvP in this game? maybe 10% of the player base? It would be better to simply throw away that 10% of the player base instead of start catering to it.
Blizzard please... just no. Reception wasnt good before, going even harder on it is not going to change that.
I love World of Warcraft and I always will, and even though I haven't been actively playing for over a year, I still keep up with the game religiously. As someone who has kept up with this game practically daily for 10 years, I am continually baffled by the poor choices the developers make in their ceaseless efforts to reinvent the wheel. It's not that this one change is necessarily any worse than others, it's the constant changes like this that continually irritate the players that are tired of seeing frustrating changes that in effect piss everyone off far more than they do succeed in improving things that don't need improving. These changes are unnecessary. The changes to loot rules were unnecessary. The changes to mob scaling that went beyond the scope of leveling were unnecessary. Countless other changes that have been made that change fundamental rules that long time players never imagined that one day would be put in jeopardy over seemingly fruitless pursuits. It's seemingly never ending. Even if you want to play the game, or look forward to playing, you can't be sure that the developers won't up and decide to reinvent how fundamental elements will work, that completely change the things you have had years to get used to. I get it, and it's beyond frustrating, and so when I see comments and posts made from people who are dramatic and upset, I completely 100% understand where they are coming from. People are allowed to be human. Some disagree with that because they are painfully insecure even over what some random internet person might say about their comments. It sucks when you want to enjoy something, but you're dealing with schizophrenic developers that seem determined to make waves over god knows what. It almost feels like the developers shake things up to ensure that things are always broken, so that they will still have a job in the days to come.
everyone crying about all their #$%^ being put on the gcd and I'm sitting here as a warlock main wondering why nothing is getting put on the gcd for us... then I remembered... warlocks already have everything on the gcd. LUL. get over it crybabies.
The actual Demon Hunter shield wall is on the GCD. This cannot be for real.
Good, as I play a mage and most of my stuff is already on GCD, I'm happy to see other classes get more stuff on GCD. It makes sense. It's stupid when everything is not on GCD.FU melees
