I would like to know of the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered) community in wow.
Are you open about your sexuality. If so how dose it come up in wow?
Do you play with your Wife/hubby/kids ?
My boyfriend , my boyfriend's dad, and i play,
Me--- warlock for pve, sub rogue for pvp. DK for Tanking
my boyfriend--- ret-pally for pve & pvp (go figuer a gay pally).
my boyfriend's dad--- combat rogue for pve, mut/prep rogue for pvp
Is discrimination or harassment a issue? If so, how do you handle it? If it is with in a guild, how dose the guild handle it?
Is any member of the heterosexual community, for what ever reason, feel uneasy playing with a gay player? Why? (really why?)
Has the GLBT community came into conflict will blizz or even wowhead?
Has any member of the GLBT community every been harassed by another player?
I am in Shadows of the Void and we have this in our guild regulations.
"Any Guild Regulation, Officer order, Officer notes, MOTD, player notes, guild chat , officer chat, Guild website post, or any other guild commutation or action, that discriminates or harasses another player on the bases of Race, Religion, Sex,
Sexual Orientation
, Age or, Physical disability will not be permitted"

There was an incident a while back involving a questionable decision made by a Blizzard GM involving a LGBT guild; some details are here:

- I'm not sure what happened in the end.

There was a thread about this a week ago and every thing you said was discussed in that topic.
And it is locked. (which puts a bit of hamper on the discussing part hum?)
The topic was very narrow. As so, it was susceptible to a “off topic lock“. Thus, I have made a new one. and will change the OP's topic as the thread changes. /fix
Thanx for the link, Oppenheimer.
Bizz moved in the right direction by making a harassment policy that included sexual orientation. Yet, to try and stop a guild from recruiting like minded people into their ranks on the off chance the they would be mistreated is counter productive. Bring to mind the failed thinking behind the Don't ask Don't tell policy.

Their reasoning might have been that if players are allowed to create guilds which are LGBT-exclusive it would also mean that players will have to be allowed to create guilds which are black-exclusive, white-exclusive, heterosexual-exclusive, etc. Many gay players would feel discriminated if they were rejected by a guild because they were gay, but the same goes for heterosexual players who gets rejected for not being gay. Just think of all the problems which could arise if a black player got rejected from a guild because he was not white.
That's not to say I'm against guilds which are X-exclusive. But as I said; if we allow LBGT-exclusive guilds then we have to allow heterosexual-exclusive guilds as well. And that's what I don't know if people can manage.

But are you saying Gay/Lesbian couples can't get freaky? :P
Hell, that's the best part imho.

Honestly, how often does your sexual orientation come up in WoW?

That had a link to one of the funniest things I think I have ever read. Man I'm still laughing.

I'm a married guy with 3 kids, don't play with either wife or kids, but I'm sure that's not what you wanted to discuss.
Is discrimination or harassment a issue? If so, how do you handle it? If it is with in a guild, how dose the guild handle it?
Haven't seen any discrimination of the sort in my guild, then again I don't know of any gays in my guild, and I don't really care to ask, since, well.. I don't care. It's none of my dang business. I'm also in a predominately adult guild, with members ranging from mostly high 20ies to high 40ies, so I guess we're not that prone to harass either way.
Is any member of the heterosexual community, for what ever reason, feel uneasy playing with a gay player? Why? (really why?)
I'm sure some feel uneasy with it, given that there's a huge homophobic population out there. My stance on the subject is that ... I don't care. If some gay man/boy tried to make a pass at me (I'm talking real life here, you don't make passes in a videogame, gay/straight/boy/girl, whatever, do you? At least I don't.), the answer would be the same that it would be to a woman; "I'm flattered, but married, thanks.".
Has the LGBT community came into conflict will blizz?
See the post above here with a link to the blog/article.
Has any member of the LGBT community every been harassed by another player?
Of course they have. To think otherwise would go against all common sense. Why would WoW be different from the real world in that matter? We're real people playing.

I think that's a good addition to any guild regulations. Not only the Sexual Orientation part, but the rest as well. Kudos to your guild.

But they weren't
exclusive
to GLBT, just
GLBT-Friendly
, as in, players could join and know they can openly admit to their sexualities without discrimination.
It's no more exclusive than a Gay/Lesbian Bar; Sure, you can go in, nothings stopping you. It's just a sanctuary-of-sorts for them.
Then I have no idea what they were thinking:P
