The NPC is located in the cave on the island the quest hub is located on. Entrance to the cave is at 33,75 - when you walk into the cave you'll see to your left there is a little hold the NPC is in, you begin fighting him and at 30% he'll run from you and jump through a whole in the gate and he'll get eaten by the big o'l bear down there. Kill the bear (who has like NO hp as of right now) and you'll loot the head.

Awesome trinkets that should be an upgrade for the majority of casual players. Works well with the other Howling Fjord quest reward blue trinkets (if you are Horde) as they can be popped at the same time because they give different stats. Funny thing is these trinkets have 2 minute cooldown while the Blue reward trinkets have only 1 minute cooldown.

Though listed as a 3-man quest, I found it to be quite easy, and probably solo-able by most classes. As a shadow priest in T6-ish gear, it was laughably simple, so I expect that people in blues and greens should be able to kill the pirate and his bear without too much difficulty.
Also, don't forget to handle The Frozen Heart of Isuldof (http://www.cuckhead.com/?quest=11512) while you're there.

Solo'd as a 71 Rogue in badge gear / tier 4 mix.

Jonah was easy keep him locked then dismantle as kidney shot is about to wear off and do not use evasion. He will run before you take any significant amount of damage.

Hozzah hits a bit hard but he can be stunned and you should have evasion ready here.

Jonah is fearable, so a Warlock of any gear can easily solo him. The trouble is with Hozzah who is fear immune and who hits cloth for about 900. I'd try not following Jonah and instead walking down with a Void (to avoid the pet taking the longer route while you're dying).

Both Jonah and the Bear "Hozzer" are rootable by druids. Balance/Resto druids should have no problem with this quest either.

Soloed with a 70 Holy Paladin with Kara epics. Straightforward with Consecrate and Holy Shock if you have good mana regen and keep Seal of Wisdom active at all times.

Did this quest on my level 71 Rogue (Hemo, Maces).
Opened on him with a Garrote then Kidney shoted him. Soon as KS wore off just used Dismantle and then Rupture. That easily took him out and then he jumped down to the Bear where he was eaten. Jumped down the bear and opened with Garrote, then Rupture while keeping two back to back Evasions up to avoid damage using Prep. Poped one heal potion in the middle of the fight for safety. Really its one of the easiest 3man quest I have done in a long time.

Easily solo'd as a 70 Enhancement Shaman in BC Quest Gear and a few Kara Pieces.

I just dropped my normal totems (SoE, Windfury, Mana, and Flametongue). I had to heal once on each but with Maelstrom Weapon it was a quick easy instant cast.

Really I don't think either one of them should be Elite because neither of them hit like it or had the HP to back it up.

Solo'd as a level 71 Assassination spec'd Rogue. I leveled to 70 in Northrend - so I was in standard quest reward greens, including some stuff leftover from Outland. Stunlocked Sterling, bandaged while he went and got et up by Hozzer, and ran down the long way to the bear. In the process of killing him I popped a health pot (after Evasion wore off), Blood Fury, and Braxley's Backyard Moonshine (Best. Trinket. Ever.). He has a knockback, and becaues he's so gigantic moves much slower than usual. I had enough time to bandage up about 3K worth of HP before he reached me and I killed him.

You don't really need 3 group members as the quest text suggests. I did this quest with my 71 hunter and a 71 feral druid- and we didn't have any problems whatsoever.

Solo'd as a combat rogue with green armour and gladiator swords. This is soloable. I blew my cooldowns, but didn't come close to dying.

Sterling himself is no problem, the bear is a little tougher but it's a straight out melee fight. His only ability that I encountered was a knockback.

I have a level 70 shadow priest with only outland blues for gear. Nothing special.

I found Jonah, as a level 70 elite to be pretty easy. Got me down to about 50% health (fear-mind flay->dot->repeat).

I did this after reading a couple of posts, especially by a shadow priest ( Kalakagathosa) who said that about the bear: "it was laughably simple" and "Lucky" who said that the bear "has like NO hp as of right now".

Boy, those bits of advice sure cost me!

I stupidly levitated down to kill this "laughably simple" bear and just started wacking with spells, finding fear was not good, and even though he was slow, he hit hard.

I died.

This also means having to kill Jonah all over again.

This time I ate some buff food (+40 stam), drank a potion I made (+20 to all stats), applied a Spirit scroll that dropped eariler (gives a spell bonus).

The bear got me down to 5% health, but I got him first!

Can it be done? Yup. But if you don't have any CC but fear, and you wear cloth, it is anything but "laughably simple". But it is doable.

Both NPCs are slowable with frost spells, so a level 1 mage can solo this.

Easily done at 71 with no new trained spells.

And, in fact, it doesn't matter who kills Jonah. Only the group who tags and kills Hozzer will be able to loot the quest item. We pulled Jonah three times while Alliance $%^&*!bags waited below to tag the bear as soon as it was targetable.

Advice: wait to do this quest event until nobody is around to interfere.

Soloed as a 71 Blood DK with decent gear.

Beat Jonah down to about 7k and he'll flee to wake up the bear. Use this time to bandage if you need to and wait for your runes to come back up before jumping into the pit. You don't have to worry about Jonah after he flees just the bear.

Hate to post another one of these 'solo'd as a blahblah', but I just did- Lvl 69 DK in a mix of Outland/Northrend quest greens (only had the trinkets and sigil from the starting blues left).

The Captain goes down easily, raised a ghoul to give me a hand with the bear (Frost spec, so it wasn't tha t powerful).

Just Solo'd this on a lv. 73 Hunter w/a 72 Cat; Was a pain, and both me and my cat barely lived to make it, but in the end we were able to get the bear down.

Did this at the same time as http://www.cuckhead.com/?quest=11512 which was good to get two quests down at once.

(As a hunter, my brain, upon seeing the huge bear, wonders if he's tame-able. >:} )

Just remember to use Scorpid Sting, then whale away at it, hitting mend Pet every so often.

Both mobs are kiteable. Easy to work them around and control them till they die.

Each has about 25-30k hp. But since you fight them separately, it's not big deal.

They're both melee mobs, though the human has a whirlwind-like attack that deals damage at a pretty far range. He also hits for about 1050 physical.

The big bear, afaik, doesn't have any special abilities, aside from the usual bear ones. Hits for about 900.

One of those quests that i love to do as a bm hunter since other classes must struggle whilst i solo it easily... Save all CD:s for the bear since that fight is tougher than johna, keep mend pet up KC, BW, RF, SS, AS til bear is dead. If u aggro use feign death ofc.

Very easy, solo'd as a 73 Rogue in S1 and Northrend/Outland Armor. Got Jonah to 30% without going below 50% myself, then when he ran out & died, I just healed up and Stealthed down.

Killed Hozzer without going below 60%. Very easy. Looted, and ran outta the cave :)

After Jonah wakes up Hozzer, you have 2min 30sec to wait for cooldowns and heal up until the event resets and Hozzer goes back to sleep. Make them count.

had command shout on for extra hp, and basically demoralized him, thunderclap, and then rend for the op, didnt even use bladestorm or pots and got out of hozzer with 7k hp

Solo'ed as a level 72 Combat Rogue.

Once I walked up to the bear, Jonah came up and was killed by Hozzer.

Hozzer is stunable, so using Cheap Shot and a 5-point Kidney Shot while running Adrenaline Rush, Blade Fury, SnD and a +AP trinket was enough to get him down without going below 60%.

Beginning of this chain and also part of pre-requisite questchain is stated as Horde-only while some of the quests of the chain are marked as for both sides. I am little confused here. I used some food buffs, and used my Death Strike ability fairly regularly. Didn't drop below 50% health.
As stated above, you don't have to engage Hozzer right away after you drop Jonah. Use that time to heal/mana up.

I was doing The Frozen Heart of Isuldof and when I saw Jonah jump down I followed him, well the bear ate him and attacked me straight after.

As a level 73 retri pally with Northrend gear only I had it incredibly easy, I still was at 90% from dealing with Jonah and with the bear I never got low.
Seal of Light, Judgement of Light, Hammer of Justice, Crusader and Divine Storm was all I needed.

So when I came back to do The Jig is Up and saw it was tagged as a 3 man quest I thought that was kinda pessimistic of Blizzard.

I found this quite easy to solo as a lvl 71 retribution-specced (0/0/61) pally with virtually all greens.

Presumably the damage mitigations on plate is enough to take these guys... the bear was only hitting me for about 500-800, and Sterling for even less (500-600). I only have about 7k armor which isn't great for a Plate-wearer (no shield) so I would say that unless you have really low hp this should be solo-able on most plate-wearing classes, especially if you buff up and/or have some hp regen capability. To be on the safe side it's probably best not to take it too lightly; heal up, etc.

I also found that partway through the bear state he smacked me across the cave. I don't know whether this is a standard thing to happen, but it could give someone a chance to do a quick bandage or heal.

Solo'ed as a 73 boomkin with absolutely no problems. Rejuv/Regrowth/LB before fighting Jonah, pulled with Wrath and threw on IS/MoonfireWrathspam until he jumps downstairs to the bear. Heal up real quick, jump down, immediately throw out Treants + IS + FF, let them soak up a few hits while I started up a SF, turned on Barkskin when it hit and kept SF/Wrath weaving. I barely took more than 2k damage from the bear, 50% mana, didn't have to pot or innervate or anything special, didn't even have Eclipse proc. ANY boomkin with at least 1k spellpower (I have 1200 in boomkin) should be able to handle this guy, if you can't then you might have to Barkskin -> HOT up -> Innervate -> pot -> resume beatdown.

Easily soloed as a 70 Mutilate rogue with a little over 8000 health. It helps that I am in full epics though :P

When Jonah does the http://www.cuckhead.com/?spell=50188 skill, just back away and you will take no damage from it. He's pretty easy to stun lock, open with cheap shot then kidney shot him after that.

When he jumped down, I pot + cold blood and evasion for the bear. Then just rupture and kidney shot whenever it was up and it was smooth sailing, ended up with a little more than 2000 health left.

As a lvl 69 solo feral druid in greens I'd say it was low/medium difficulty (taking into account that I'm not very used to playing druid).

Open Jonah with pounce & some bleeding, switch to bear and start wearing him down. Back away during his flailing, throw on a HoT or two, and then charge him. Repeat as needed.

When he jumps down to Hozzer and dies you leave combat, so take some time to drink & eat if needed. Go to kitty form, stealth, fall down on Hozzer and pounce just as you're landing. Throw on some rake & rip if you get the time, and go to bear form before (preferably) the pounce wears out. Hozzer does significantly more dmg than Jon, so bash/barkskin+entangle for some healing will probably be needed.

Hozzer does a knockback, but not very often (only once during my fight). Take the opportunity to charge back to him (or entangle+heal).

Just solo'd as a 74 feral druid, bear form with around 20k armor and 15k hp. I jumped down with Jonah so it was basically a continuous fight and even though having been a few levels higher than most people doing this quest, it was very easy. I didn't have to do hardly anything except Lacerate and Mangle and never went below 12k hp. I'd say this quest could be easily duo'd by any two classes even with minimal heals.

Oh yeah...definately solo'd as my 71 Frost Death Knight. When Jonah gone into his little Flailing move...all I saw was Dodge/Miss/Parry. The bear was a little harder...he hit me for about 400 even in Frost Presence.

Just be aware of the knockback by the bear...hit me for 700.

This quest isn't too hard, and I don't know why is says 3 people, more like 2 at most. As a 72 Holy pally I soloed this pretty easily. I just had Seal of Light, and the occasionally FoL on me and I was good.

The pirate guy doesn't hit too hard, and he goes down pretty fast. But at 30% he jumps down. And then huge bear appears. This bear hits pretty hard(but I am a healer and I wear Plate, so it wasn't hard.) And his HP is a lot higher than the first guy. All in all, if your a clothie I think you'll have a hard time, but for DKs, and pallies, this should be pretty easy.

killed the pirate pretty easy, healed up while he got eaten. When i attacked the bear i used retaliation and bladestorm, the bear died pretty quickly. Not too bad.

Soloed as a 72 affli warlock. As said before, the pirate is piece of cake. Didnt even know he could be feared - I used the same tactic on both pirate and the bear - send void to tank while dotting them, watching the threat meter. Careful with bear though. Once a while he does a knockback attack which causes aggro wipe (youre gonna need ur void to pick him up again).

Easily doable as mutilate rogue. Deadly/Crippling poisons and start with a stunlock, then move out of range while he's crippled. Gauge if you need combo points but otherwise just wait for Kidney shot cooldown, move in, kidney, mutilate etc...
When the pirate jumps down, just wait, get out of combat and heal up then you can jump down to the bear and do pretty much the same thing, but with cooldowns :>

I accidentally discovered him while farming chilled meat and took him and Hozzer down as a combat speced 70th NE Rogue.

Worth noting that you need to have completed 'The Dead Rise' chain of quests (according to wowwiki) for the Pirates to be friendly and to get this quest.

Soloed as a L72 BM Hunter. First NPC at top of cave hits like a fairy. My mend pet kept my pet at full HP all the time. Once he ran, I hit Cheetah and ran round normal way in cave. Bear was awake and on full HP. Easy knocked him over with use of mend pet and Bestial Wraith.

Don't be afraid to attempt solo on this for any class.

It's great that you can solo the dude, gratz. Although, both guys should be cake to solo for any class or spec. After you kill Jonah, you'll have a break if you need it to drink/bandage and all that. Do the Frozen Heart quest at the same time if you have it. It's in the back of the cave after the bear though, not in the same room Jonah is in.

You don't even have to kill the Pirate. Just run down to the bear and kill it and take the spy glass. If you fight the pirate he gets to about half dead then jumps and the bear eats him. avoid the wasted time by just killing the bear for the glass

Of course after i killed it i noticed a level 72 warrior sitting there so she may have killed the pirate before i ran down there (80 lock) and triggered the item inside the bears loot drop. So its a risk of time! you can either save half the time or take double the time! =)

I agree with some above comments about it being easy. As a prot warrior and I soloed it at 68, while questing for the frozen heart. Two levels later, forgetting how I was able to do it solo, I spent 2 hrs trying to find another member. Took less than 30 secs to kill with another 70.

Chains of Ice> Icy Touch> Blood Boil> Blood Boil> Death> Death Coil
If you keep repeating that and keep them at a distance you'll be good.
I pulled the bear to the top level and worked my way back down since he was so big to keep him away from me. =]

Just did this solo with my Shadow Priest. I died the first time (maybe because I forgot to cast Vampiric Embrace), but when I used a trinket (Infused Coldstone Rune) it was suddenly very easy.

Ok, I wont one line "I soloed as a 74 huntard lol easy!" I will actually lay down what I did. I am level 74 Nelf, BM spec with Cat pet.

I went into the cave and started on Jonah I kept my pet healed and have Aspect of the Viper on to replenish my mana pool. After a while he decided to commit suicide and I sat down to consume some Shoveltusk soup from a previous quest. Even though I lost no hp and my Cat was able to hold his own I felt the stats would help, so not spending much time eating (Enough for the buff) I ran down and saw the big white bear.

He looked happy!

I put hunter's mark on set a heal on my Cat and set her to attack, I lay down a Snake trap and shot off a serpent sting and proceeded to arcane shot and shoot normally until arcane cooled down. I also kept mend pet up, he does hit hard and I took aggro twice, I feign death both times but not before the overgrown rug slapped me down to 70% health. After a few mins he was downed and I looted the spyglass.

Also like stated above, if you are on the quest The Frozen Heart of Isudolf just go up the ramp to the left hand side and its at the top. If Hozzer respawns don't panic, he wont attack you unless you throw him another Jonah's. Which I had fun doing again on my way out, Jonah respawned and I just did as before and let Hozzer do the rest!

Just solo'd as a Frost mage. For the first guy just used water elemental and kept using frost nova. Then doing fb quickly followed by ice lance and the occasicanly insta fireball. Then for the next guy i poped trinkets used cold snap, and the new water ele. Basically did what i did on the first guy again and rather quickly he was dead.

here my favorite weapon Tidebreaker Trident polearm(334-502 damage, speed 3,40, 122,9dps) which you can
buy from Winterfin Retreat(43,14)Borean Tundra, from a clam wendor called Ahlurglgr when you have first done a couple of small quests for king Mrgl-Mrgl(D.E.H.T.A, Cenarion).
The weapon cost 50 clams, which you collect easily from the opposite strand.
This polearm raised my characters dps to 805. BR schwesterdk lvl 73 undead dk 100% unholy talents build.

Soloed as a 72 feral druid, went pretty well. Attacked first for a few hits in kitty form than switched to bear, once I fought the bear I did the same. Healed myself with a bandage and also did it in bear form as well. Wasn't super easy or anything, but I didn't die :P

If for some reason you're struggling with Hozzer, this is one kiting method.

Step 1. Stand at the edge of the half pipe thing Jonah jumps off of and attack Hozzer until it runs out of range(going up the ramp towards you)
Step 2. Once Hozzer is out of range, jump off the ledge and immediately run up the ramp directly across from you and continue attacking.
Step 3. When Hozzer reaches you, jump off the ramp and hope you can finish him off in time.

soloed it as a lvl 71 dk frost spec i kept the diaseses up then death striked for health jonah only does about 400-500 dmg per hit. then at 30% he jumped off into the bottom of the cave and his pet killed him as i was at 9.5k and my max health 11.9k before u jump off i would eat food if you were at lillte health then i jumped of to kill the bear same techinque and finally i killed his bear. I would say a DK, Pally, Druid(feral), or shammy(enhance).

Assassination down to Mutilate. 14 points in Subtlety, 5 points in Combat. lvl 70. 120 energy. Deadly Poison on both daggers. 2 x Balanced Heartseeker w. Fiery Weapon.
Ran down the long way after nuking the pirate above. Sat down and ate to full health and went to town on the bear.

I opened with Cheap Shot, SnD, Shiv, Mutilate, Kidney Shot. After that I kept Rupture and SnD up. Stuns if I had the CPs for it, popped evasion and drank a Super Healing Potion along the way. Started with 8.3k, ended with 4.3k.
Soloable for a 42/5/14 rogue. Good luck.

Started with cheap shop , then quickly activcated evasion + Adrenaline Rush + Blade flurry. He quickly went down :)

As for the bear , my cooldowns weren't up and he goes sleeping again if you don't attack him

What I did was engage him till I was almost dead , then vanished , ate food and engaged again (with cooldowns up) and defeated him.

Piece of cake solo with a 72 lvl frost DK. Just a straight up slugfest.

Used the nutter to build runepower, food to heal, raised a ghoul, and jumped on him ... used Bladefist's Breath, horn of winter, and popped my other cooldowns.

Did not need to Death Pact my Ghoul ... was at 30% hit points when the bear finally went down.

When I went to the cave wll playing my ret paly for another quest to get the frozen heart at the back of the cave, I found him quite easy to solo, both him and the bear, at lv70.
(of course I know palys are op, so it might to be easy for every other class)

This quest was extremely easy, I soloed it as a level 69 Death Knight, and all the while I was wondering why it was labeled as a group quest with a three player recommendation. I was a little bit nervous when I got to the big bad bear, but he was pretty easy too, I just replaced my normally used Obliterate with several Death Strikes to keep my health up. Personally I think it should be taken down to two player recommendation, because I found it really easy.

Indeed. Both mobs are vulnerable to snare (the bear, in particular, runs VERY slowly) making this fairly trivial for a frost mage. Considering you aren't forced to engage the bear immediately (you can take a little while to run down the slope) i don't think you even really need any cooldowns up beyond frost nova.

Surprisingly easy as a 70 BM hunter, why this is a 71 3-man quest I do not know. Jonah doesn't have much game, and you only need to get him to about 30%. Then - as long as nobody's hiding downstars getting ready to steal your kill so they only need to do half the quest - you've got a couple of minutes for your cooldowns and trinkets to get ready. Hozzer downstairs is a pretty straightforward fight, just set your pet on him, keep him healed and keep shooting. Even easier as a Draenei hunter when you can just pop Gift Of The Naaru on your pet.

Nice trinket, not much effort, 25k experience, what's not to like?

I have soloed this on a Balance Druid, an Unholy DK, and now a Shadow Priest.

I think my Shadow Priest had the hardest time (lowest armor/health and Hozzer is immune to Fear), but still didn't come close to dying thanks to PW:S and Dispersion (I'm a little liberal with my Dispersion, you may or may not need to use it :P )

Worst case scenario: Bring one (1) friend along ;-)

Uhm.... this one isn't a 3 man quest. As a Lev 71 Feral Druid in Northrend greens, I stood toe to to with the pirate and didn't lose any health.... I stood toe to toe and maybe popped an AP trinket and the bear maybe got me down to 70% health before i took him down.

No kiting.... just toe to toe bear action.....

As 71 arcane mage, this was easy to solo, although I was using trinkets to boost spell power and a healing potion at some point.

Started off by polymorphing Jonah, then hitting him with slow. once i am far away, slammed with with three arcane blasts, arcane missle, and arcane barrage. by then he's on me, so i frost nova, blink, and as i'm running away, hit'em with slow again. then i repeat the previous cycle. i think after my second strike, he was pretty much done for.

The bear is immune to polymorph, but not to slow or frost nova. he went down pretty easily.

for alliance (like me) that march in here to just grab their trinket, i found out the hard way that this quest has more than a couple of pre-requisites. if you don't do them, then you will never be able to talk to the quest giver.

1. at the top of the lift, "Orfus" (a walrus looking dude) will offer you a quest "The dead rise!". you must take it.

note: the 4 clues are found at the southern tip of the main island. do not go down the lift yet.

2. then "Orfus" will hand you "Elder Atuik ...". take it, and head down the lift now. he is in a tent in the main village you end up in.

3. "Elder Atuik" will now offer the quest "Grezzix Spindlesnap". take it, and head to the shoreline.

note: the "Grezzix" NPC can be found close, off shore in a small dingy sized boat, amongst the small floating icebergs.

4. "Grezzix" hands you "Street Cred". take it. this is important, because it is this quest which actually converts all of the occupants in Scalawag Point to be friendly instead of hostile.

head to the island just South of the one you are on, and find the Scalawag Point place. when you get there ...

5. "Handsome Terry" will be there, friendly, and offer you "Forgotten Treasure". take it. the sunken ships are SE of where Terry is.

note: i forget if Terry is offering the quest when you first pull into town. if so, great. if not, then take the quest that "Silvermoon Harry" gives you, in the tent.

you will also have to do all of the other quests in this chain, which include:

A) "The Fragrance of Money"
B) "A Traitor among us"
C) "Zeh'ghen sez"
D) "A Carver and a Croaker"

when you are finished with that quest line, then you get to talk to "Zeh'ghen" again.

6. "Zeh'ghen" will offer you "Crowleg Dan". take it and finish it.

7. "Zeh'ghen" will now give you another quest. "Meeting Number Two". take it. this will enable you to finally talk to the NPC that you came out here looking for in the first place; Annie Bonn.

"Annie Bonn" is located on the 3rd floor of the building you are standing next to.

now read all the posts above, about how everyone solo'd this and that.

This was extremely easy on my 71 barely-geared spriest. Went in, VT -> SWP -> VE -> DP -> MB -> MF MF MF, PWS early, redot if needed, jump down straightaway, repeat VT -> SWP -> VE -> DP -> MF MF MF, PWS when it comes up, redot as needed. Both down in about 30 seconds each.

Not meaning to sound arrogant but it was indeed extremely easy and I had no trouble completing this.

Easily done with a solo rogue (combat, lvl 71) too. I buffed him a little (poisons and food), but I believe I could have done the job without buffs.

I almost killed Jonah before he fled, but he managed to get away. Incapacitation (Cheap Shot and Kidney Shot) comes in handy when fighting these two (Jonah and Hozzer), but in my opinion the two elites did not do much damage anyway.

Soloed as a lvl 73 rogue. Stunlocked jonah and when the stunlock was over I used evasion. Against the bear I stunlocked aswell, and when I was running low I shived wound (im muti so that's crippling aswell) on him, ran away and bandaged and then killed him.

Not sure if its there, but here it goes.

I did solo it myself, 73 Rogue Combat specced.

First you try ti kill jonas until hez 30 percent. Then what you should do is to heal yourself up with frostweave bandages so you get back to full health. Then you go down to the bear and kill him, also use killing spree so you can see the HP is going down. Also use other things like kick, evade etc (everything!) and you can kill the bear!

Took me 2 attempts and now i am happy that i made it!

Don't be bothered to find a group for this quest. I soloed it quite fine as a 70 Feral Druid in Outland/Northrend quest greens and blues.

The cave is located at the bottom of the hill around 33, 75. Simply walk in, get the human NPC to 30%, he'll jump down and getting eaten by the bear. Run down and kill the bear. Loot and done.

I used my standard; FF, Manglex2, Rake, TF, Clawx2, Rip, Manglex2, Rake, Clawx2, Maim, instant HoTs, Barkskin, SI, back to cat - rinse & repeat till dead. This should be a good rotation for any Feral druids having trouble with this but, you really shouldn't be if you've gotten this far.

I basically have the same spec, and this is very easy to solo as a rogue. On the pirate, stun locked him, dismantled right before kidney wore off and he only hit me for 8% of my HP before jumping down. I ate, stealthed and jumped down, stun locked the bear, popped evasion and he died just as evasion expired. Lost maybe 3k hp total this quest.

Make sure that as a warrior you use the sheeps near the first NPC to collect 100 rage. Makes fighting the bear a whole lot easier. Also Thunderclap/Demoshout are highly advisible since he hits quite hard.

Soloed as 70 Combat Rogue.

1. Stealth > Cheap Shot Jonah > Kidney Shot.. Take him to 30% easiliy, use your trinket. (Dont use Killingspree or any cds). If you are low on health, just sleep Jonah and bandage. (Hozzer is immune to sleep)

* He will run and wake Hozzer (Bear).

2. Eat up, Cheap Shot > 4 Combo Kidney Shot > Use Killingspree, i suggest your Combat > When he is out of your stunlock, use Evasion and pop Adrenaline Rush.

altho i died a few times cause i missed my heal or shield, i did this solo as 69 shadow priest. definitely somethin i'd have liked help on...i hate dyin several times in a row on the same mob.

for me i found it best to cast Vampiric Emrace, then Devouring Plauge then Shadow Word: Pain, then Vampiric Touch then Mind Blast then Power Word: Shield then Greater Heal and then recast Shadowform and repeat. Once out of mana, throw out the Shadowfiend and keep going.

i also had some spell power trinkets going for the extra damage... i think i had Heavenly Inspiration and Ancient Draenei Arcane Relic.

What seems like a 3-man quest is actually soloable. Done this as a level 70 Elemental Shaman with some Northrend Greenies and Keleseth spell dagger.

What I do is to keep using Lightning Bolt at him until he is really close, then Thunderstorm to get him out of range and Frost Shock him quickly to buy more time. At 30% he goes down and got eaten by his own pet. (Which I seriously found it funny, but not a very nice gesture)

Instead of going straight down, I just followed the path downstairs, eat up, and engaged the bear. He hits a little harder, but he is knockable using Thunderstorm. Same strategy, I just only need to use Healing Wave once and without any Elementals to help me.

I don't know what kind of compass that lady uses, but the cave is far more North than West of the pirate camp. Going west puts you in the water. You can usually trust the quest text, but not this time.

As an enhancement shaman, I tanked the bear with Earth Elemental Totem. He holds aggro very well, and had enough HP to sustain the whole fight without needed any heal. Since you won't suffer from spell pushback, Flame shock + Lava burst was great, with some melee hits while on cooldown. 15 seconds fight.

Solo'd as a 70 combat rogue in mostly BC blues with some Northrend greens. Jonah himself nearly got me - had 463hp left when he jumped down to Hozzer - but the bear was easier. Here's what I did:

Jonah's the scarier of the two despite his small size compared to the bear. He's walking around just inside the entrance to the cave:

put crippling poison on MH, deadly on OH
stealthed up to him, sapped him, then did an Ambush from behind
popped my Talisman of the Tundra soon as the fight started, and
kept hitting him with sinister strike 'til the meter was full and then hit Rupture
blinded him, popped a health pot (was down to about 1k out of 9k by now), then
repeated sinister strike 'til meter was full again and then hit Eviscerate
after a few more sinister strikes he turned tail and jumped down.

Hozzer, the ginormous bear down in the bottom half of the cave, will be waiting for you at the bottom once Johan jumps down and meets his demise. Soon as Jonah jumped down, I ate some food and bandaged, then headed down. This fight was pretty much a rinse and repeat of what I did with Jonah. The main difference was I stealthed up to the bear, then used distract to point him the other way, then started with Ambush as above. I had waited just a few seconds longer so that my health pot was off CD and that helped towards the end. Without the pot I probably would've made it but with less than 500hp left. With the pot, I had almost a full bar when he dropped. Although I didn't think of it at the time, popping a Disarm on Jonah might have mitigated his damage somewhat, but at the time I needed the extra DoT that the Rupture gave me.

Good luck, since luck is certainly a factor in solo'ing these two. But at least it's doable.

Well I had beaten Jonah and died to Hozzer earlier while trying to get the frozen heart. I didn't realize at the time there was another quest to come in here. I got some assistance from a 72 Druid but I didn't have any such assistance when I came back the 2nd time. This was done as a level 71 Frost DK (at the moment 2/60/0). I put up Icebound Fortitude, Unbreakable Armor, Blood Tap, used Death & Decay, and then followed the normal rotation. Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Howling Blast, Blood Strike, Frost Strike a few times, etc. Not entirely simple but manageable.

Jonah was easy, just started with Frostbolt>Arcane Blast>Arcane Blast>Frost Nova>Blink>Arcane Missiles and he went running.

Evocation between the two fights, with the Glyph that restores health as well.

As for the bear, I used Frostbolt>Slow>Arcane Blast>Arcane Blast>Arcane Blast>Arcane Missiles>Frost Nova> Blink>Slow and repeat. Pretty easy, only hit me twice.

Solo'd as a 71 Mut rogue pvp specced. Opened on Jonah with CS>Mut>Mut>KS>Mut> Rup and kited him up and down the stairs until KS CD was back up (Specced into deadly brew - made things easier). Killed Jonah and bandaged with all CDs up, jumped down to Hozzer and opened with the same opening, popping Evasion after KS and using Cold Blood on 5 pt Evis.

Ended with 95% Health left, real easy.

Pretty easy quest. Solo'd first attempt as a 71 Combat Rogue.

When you get the pirate to 30% he will run down to his bear friend and consequently get eaten (Spyglass n'all)

Instead of jumping straight down to the bear i suggest you stay on the ledge he jumped off and do what you need to do (Eat, buff etc) Then jump down to the bear and continue the fight.

I popped all my CDs on the Pirate. Which was a bad move because he's easier than the bear.
But it still worked out in the end and i got a shiny new trinket.

I'd say it's soloable by any class at level 70, maybe even lower.

73 affliction warlock normally level as full affliction with Felhunter. Tried kiting first. Jonah is easy, bear is not. CoEx seemed to have no effect on the bear and its immune to Fear.

On second try, I switched to my afflic/demo/Voidwalker low dps, low threat tanky build and killed both with no trouble. Just took a little longer.

Easy solo as a shadow priest. Level 70, unremarkable questing / Outland gear. My health never dropped below 90%. Didn't have to mana up between fights, but obviously Disperse or use a Shadowfiend if you run low.

Keeping PW: Shield up is the key, but Psychic Scream does help a little bit. Just put up DoTs, Mind Blast on CD, and spam Mind Flay. Reapply the shield every time it falls off or Weakened Soul does (whichever comes last), you shouldn't have to Flash Heal yourself but do so if you need to. Had no problem at all with these elites. Use Psychic Scream when off cooldown if you feel like it. They must've gotten a massive swat from the nerf bat, judging from some of the earlier comments.

In the very same cave as The Frozen Heart of Isuldof :) After killing this guy, just continue deeper to the cave and you will find the quest item there.

How do I get Annie to talk to me? I verified that I haven't done this questline yet, and I've come to Scalawag Point just to talk to her. But all she says is "That cursed Jonah Sterling will lead us right into doom."
