Zezzak won't give this quest to you until you have completed "Wanted: Worg Master Kruush" which you can get from the "wanted"-sign at the entrance of Spinebreaker Post.

I do not know if "Wanted: Worg Master Kruush" is necessary to get this quest, but "The Eyes of Grillok" (http://www.cuckhead.com/?quest=10813) certainly is.

Right, I meant that Zezzak won't talk to you at all until you finish the Kruush quest. You still have to complete "The Eyes of Grillok".
I just felt like writing it down since I was looking for a way to make Zezzak talk for about an hour. I just never see those wanted-signs... :<

Grillok lives in the cave next to the cauldron used to boil the blood. He has two bodyguards in there with him.

All are non elite.

I just wanted to add that you're able to pull the two bodyguards without Grillok adding. Makes it easier if you're alone, I pulled the body guards with 'flameshock'

if you are a frost-mage you can solo this. just pull grillok with your water elemental and you will not get aggro on bodyguards.
i thinks its a bug, but it works.

If you equip the sword or stave you get from the Unyielding questline then fight Darkeye, 2 Unyielding knights spawn to lend a hand.

Some details about this fight

1-The 2 guards can be pulled without aggroing Grillok

2- Grillok is a Shaman & likes to use Lighting Bolt, Grounding Totems & FireNova Totems

3-Grillok will run when he is about to die, So make sure the entrance to the cave is clear

4-For a non-elite Grillok has a large amount of health

I did this with a team of two - myself a lvl62 warrior along with a lvl62 druid. It was pretty easy - just rushed in killed Grillok, grabbed the eyepatch and then dealt with the two bodyguards. He's in the cave just behind the cauldron - not in the big camp. 67.72 is correct. The plate is pretty crappy for a warrior - this is more for a paladin but you can sell the armor for 4g+ at a vendor.

Soloed this as a BM hunter at lvl 61-62.

I just sent my pet straight at Grillok with Intimidation, DOTed Grillok and the guards, then had pet growl both guards once while I focused on Grillok, healed him when he needed it, after Grillok died I killed both of the guards, not that much of a problem.

Should be easily soloable by any class I guess.

Soloed as a 59 combat spec rogue. Sap him, blade flurry down the two adds. Re-stealth (wasn't in combat), cheapshot and blow your other cooldowns to take Darkeye down easily. Easiest rare quest reward ever!

Small thing you might want to take into account is that the respawn rate at Zeth'Gor is unholy. If you clear outside the cave entrance and kill Grillok's guards, bear that in mind ... you might find yourself being charged by the guards you just killed with Grillok still on half his health.

as a lvl 59 bm hunter , soloed realy easy , thought getting in the cavern was a pain in the ass,

pulled the 2 grunts , took em out

sent pet on grillok , pet got out off fight with around 250 hp dmg (mend pet)

took about 30 secs, used frost trap tos top him from running

I'm a 61arm's spec warrior and solo'd this quest. I used some scrolls to buff myself, then pulled the two guards and killed them. I bandaged then went after grillok and used retaliation and pounded the heck out of him. Seemed to work just make sure u hamstring him before he runs out of the cave.

As a 61 Holy Priest, I solo'd this. You simply pull Grillok from the cave entrance and his guards don't aggro. They also dont aggro when Grillok 'runs away in fear'.. perhaps bugged, but very easy in it's current form.

Soloed with 61 Mage.
First i sheeped one guard, killed the other and killed the second after.
You can pull the guards without pulling Grillok.
Then i summoned Water elemental and killed him.

*Killed the 2 gaurds first
*Cheap shot, blade flurry, slice and dice, Adrenaline rush, evasion, bladefist's Breadth
*5 point evis and a 1 point KS and its all over in 10 secs

this quest is not really a group quest at all in my opinion. I just entered the cave, pyroblast he came, without the guards being aggroed and then i killed him. he is not even elite

Solo'd as a lvl 61 Sublety specced rogue. Extremely easy and did in fact use the Unyielding sword reward and 2 Unyielding Knights were summoned on my behalf, though I hardly needed them. A little added insurance. Left the fight with a scant under 70% health.

Awesome info on using the sword.

But this quest should not be tagged as group. I soloed it as a 59 combat rogue without any trouble. I just pulled the two guards first without aggroing Grillok, then just finished him off.

As a note, he is not elite, but he has a surprising amount of HP it seems. If I wasn't using the sword of unyielding and had the help of of the ghosts, I would have had to use a pot.

If you are a rogue and you don't want to kill the Necrolytes outside of the cave, stealth into the cave and sap one of the guards. Then stand in the middle between the guards and the mouth of the cave and pull the one not sapped. Kill him them kill the sapped one. Eat and kill Grillok.

Stealth out and you just killed a total of 3 mobs to complete the quest. Soloable as a lvl 60 rogue.

Just did this on my 60 priest, assumed that the grillok would come with the guards, so i decided to start on Grillok from the beginning.

Holy Fired Grillok and neither of the guards agro'd to me. we on killing him, he started to run back into the cave from fear and the guards again, did not agro to me. kill him, rested then dispatched the guards.

dont know how it worked but i was happy :)

Solo'd as a 60 prot pally. Of course I'd be able to solo as prot, but nothing was ever a problem. Using the quest blade you get to summon the guardians makes it easier, but it's not too hard without them.

All in all, the mob respawn before the cave is harder than he actually is.

Finished the quest lvl 59 warlock hard solo but manageable... had to sacrifice void to survive. didn't need to use a healthstone though. nice rewards worth the kill :)

ok this was too funny for me to keep to myself. i soloed it as a rogue and didnt have to do much of the fighting. here's my strat

1) i stealthed inside the cave
2) i sapped one of the 2 goons he had inside the cave with him
3) popped blade furry cuz the other goon will aggro but focus all my attention on Grillok
4) 2 guyz on horses showed up so i thought WTF i vanished and moved away.
5) the knights then attack grillock, wont kill him but do some serious damage.
6) broke stealth and finished the job

Easily soloed as level 59 feral druid. No healing, no potions, no unyielding staff. Nothing.
First I went into catform and pounced him, then double mangled. I shifted to bear, and then just mangle/bash all the way and when he started fleeing I switched to cat and finished him with a double Mangle. Easy.
If you are starting to get low health, just bash and heal and shift back again.

A quick note: deah knights attemption to do this quest can Death Grip him and pull him without his two body guards tagging along. Made it a whole lot easier.
Also, when he is at low health, he will run away in fear. Just make sure he doesn't make it back to his guards.

The two guards no longer pull Grillok when attacked but they will come together, no matter which you attack.

Simply pull the two guards, deal with them and then defeat the mini boss.

Soloed as a 59 combat rogue. wanted to make sure so I stealthed and sapped 1 of the guards and took the other one out. Grillok just stoot there. after that i took care of the second gard. Stealthed again and got behind Grillok, used garotte and threw all I had at him.....he has a hell of a health so I needed 1 major healing :-) during the fight. He tryed to run at last but didnt made it to the cave entrance.

So, solo possible, but it was a close call, had not much left...

death grip him at maximum range, and use chains of ice.
when 10% health, he will flee, either out or in the cave, if you cant slow him down, hope he runs into the cave, or you may find yourself facing a new challenge of 3-5 grunts.

took the chest plate, mainly because it would vendor for the most ;)

This quest is easily solo-able if you take your time and kill mobs individually, trying not to aggro anything extra. I soloed this as a 62 Enhancement Shammy. I came in from the side by the cauldron, and took out the sorcerer thing with the skeletons, then took out the one to the north of him outside the entrance of the cave, and then the one on the opposite side of the entrance across from that one. Then I killed the guards , and then killed Grillok. As long as you regenerate health & mana between mobs, you'll be fine. The respawns didn't bother me as I healed myself and then drank for mana.

Before I had gotten this quest and was on the one where you have to boil the blood, I had gone into the cave and killed him easily too...and I believe I was 59 or 60 at that point.

If u are a Dk, u can easily solo him with a ghoul risen and using Noth's special brew.
Although for other classes u might need a lil assistance.
But honestly its only that he has 11k that makes him tough to down.
But with a healing pot, or healing spells u shud be able to take him.
I thing a lock with a Voidwalker or Felguard should be able to take him.

I attacked the guards outside with a level 61 unholy Dk and died.... then i realized that ALL my equipment was broken. I tried again after getting my stuff repaired and found it to be extremely easy. :)

Solo'd as a 61 Spriest. Cleared all mobs around entrance to cave. Pullled Grillok and burned him down at entrance to cave. 2 guards never aggro'd.

If your a warrior fairly simple fight. Clear the entrance to the cave. If your not in much of a hurry use a bow/gun to pull the bodyguards and kill them. Then kill "Darkeye". If your in a hurry just pull him directly with a ranged weapon. If he runs to the back of the cave instead of outside it just make sure you line of sight it so he doesn't run half way back and cast a spell at you.

Easily soloed as a 61 aff warlock. Pulled his bodyguards without him and made quick work of them. Engaged Grillok but made sure to stay out of range of his chain lightning. The chain lightning just harmlessly hit my VW with no damage to me. Then i just made sure to be careful of aggro and got my curses down and spammed soul fire. Simple as that =D

Failed on my first try since I just retardedly ran into the cave and ended up with eight dudes following me, but had no problmes the second time since I cleared the entrance and the adds inside. (61 discipline priest)

Wouldn't stress over finding a group for this one, I solo'd easy on my Enhancement Shaman I was lvl 63. I would do what everyone has suggested though, clear the guards at least the 2 inside the cave. I flew right in killed those 2. and then just took the main guy out and flew out (you can mount up just inside the cave) didn't aggro anything.

1)Polymorph one of the Grunts
2)Slow Grillok just to reduce his cast speed.
3)Use Mirror Image and burn down the one grunt
4)Burn Grillok
5)Burn Polymorphed Grunt

opened with pet freeze to get some fingers of frost then did 1 frostbolt got a few lucky crits adn he was dead before he could even get to me

Go into cave, pull guards, don't loot them, health up, kill boss, loot guards. Easy as pie. Solo with 5k health.

I did this solo with my lvl 58 subtlety rogue in quite average gear.
When I went into the cave stealthed, I sapped one guard , passed and opened behind the boss, but took aggro from the 2nd guard. I kept dpsing the boss, but my hp went a little low and so I blinded the guard, used a health potion and just killed the boss, looted the quest item, cloaked of shadow, vanished and sprinted out.
Not really a clean way to do it, but this quest should be doable for lvl 58`s, though classes without stealth have to kill some more mobs to get in.
The quest rewards are awesome for fresh 58`s. I had an upgrade from the chest that was 111%:)

He is in a cave at which is near the red cauldron at Zeth' Gor. (the only cave in the front)

The guards have 6104 hp and Grillok "Darkeye" has 12,384 hp

As of patch 7.1.5, I (level 62 blood-elf paladin) received 12,150 EXP and 5 Gold, 40 silver for completing this quest. I did not actually get the {Gilded Crimson Chestplate} but it was added to my appearance collection.
