rnt Titans entitled space-nazis, to whom any other species is (by them deemed) inferior, even their unwanted spawns on Azeroth (who happened to not just have rescued their precious Pantheon, but also the cosmic balance of life and death)?as 10.1.5 time rifts prove, "wrong" timelines r like quantum entanglement and cant happen with Azeroths Champions on the watch (, cuz even when they do, they ll be corrected anyways). personally i may like this player focussed dimension of lore, maybe its the best of both worlds, cosmic adventurer? we ll then gather stardust for Space Magni to empower the Sun of Azeroth?
WoWHead be better!I just can't wait to see what comes next for the game!
I have not watched the video. I am going to assume they went with the narrative of Titans bad and chronicles are titans pov that Danuser (even saying the name of this man leaves a bad taste in my mouth) spoke of. First, to get it out of the way, this is a fact. You can argue and be delusional all you want. Chronicles are NOT written from Titan perspective. The book was written for us, the players, by Blizzard to summarize the events to a point in time. It is NOT written from the perspective of any force or fictional character in the Warcraft universe. I will NOT take the word of Danuser over the word of Metzen and the team that wrote the Chronicles.Second, the events in the Chronicles pre-date Titans and post-date Titans aka EVENTS THAT OCCUR AND TITANS DID NOT !@#$ING KNOW ABOUT. I will always side with the author of the book and not with whoever tells me that the book is actually written from whatever perspective when the author or authors of the book are telling me that it is just a Chronicle written to summarize all the events of the past to a certain point. That it is like the bible of wow. Danuser in this context is nothing but a televangelist and he should go $%^& himself and anyone who, despite, knowing well that the Chronicles are not written from any fictional character perspective. On to the Titans = bad argument. Most of the comments in favor of this idea is forced, projecting and are plain trolling or asinine.Titans found Azeroth when Old Gods already conquered Azeroth and subdued the Elemental Lords. They started a war on the Old Gods and won. During this war, that a particular user loved to put it, Y'shaarj got ripped from Azeroth. However, this particular user failed to tell you guys that the Titans did not know how deep Y'shaarj was rooted on the surface of Azeroth. Why did Amanthul do such a "stupid" thing that, as I said, did not know it would happen? The answer is simple. Y'shaarj was winning. N'zoth lost, C'thun lost. Yogg-Saron was retreating and preparing to unleash a counter-offensive. However, Y'shaarj was winning and not only winning he was able to defeat anything the Titankeepers and Titans threw at him. Amanthul frustrated and seeing that Y'shaarj was too powerful for their army he reached out and ripped him open as he saw the only way to deal with him. Seeing that ripping Y'shaarj caused a massive wound that they later mended and was named the Well of Eternity and later as the Maelstorm......they decided that the other Old Gods should be imprisoned. You see to blame someone that a prison that lasted for thousands upon thousands of years time and after that veeeeeeeery long time the Old Gods finally got out through different means that are very characteristic to their nature.......it is very much stupid. For one, that was the plot. It had to happen so that we can encounter C'thun. To encounter Yogg-saron and to encounter N'zoth. From lore perspective a prison will break eventually. If you are immortal and you are being given a spoon to dig yourself an escape you will dig and dig and eventually after a very long time you will have that tunnel to escape. You need prisons to break for !@#$ to happen. It is a story that is the point. &*!@ isnt perfect and will never be. Should never be and "solving" conflict should never be the aim of a story. That is what makes lore boring. Like, yeah, you defeated them but they will form again bigger, more powerful and they will test you again. The only thing that matters is how we get there. New plot, new powers with a few that we remember, new model. This time Yogg-Saron does not have Loken to help him release. He can no longer subdue the Titankeepers of Ulduar or can he?Anwyay, I went off-topic.Titans are most certainly not evil. If you want a D&D reference the most evil Titans can be is Neutral. They are Gods compared to us and their prespective is larger than we can comprehend. They did not enslave us, they did nothing to harm anyone that did not threaten the balance of the world. That is their purpose among the cosmic forces of Warcraft. They never were tyrannical, they never were evil. Odyn is an oddball. The only one that I dont understand and that does not fit the typical persona of a Titankeeper. All other Titankeepers did nothing remotely close to what he did. Which is being a tyrant. I do not know how Metzen can explain him. Odyn does not act as a being of order in no way. He is......like a mini-Sargeras. If anything their character arc, if you want to call it that, is mirrored. Except Odyn did not go mad. He was an !@#$%^& from the beginning. He is the nail that sticks out and I am curious how they will explain him (and hope it will not be Titans=bad). We, the players, our race exist because there was order in our life and there were resources. Orcs fled Draenor after Nerzhul @#$%ed the planet up trying to escape Kil'jaeden. Draeneis escaped Argus and got hunted by Kil'jaeden throughout the cosmos. Now that plot is finished. They no longer have a real plot and there is no change in open world to reflect that. You have the crashed ship still there, you have the Burning Legion agents still on the Bloodmists Isle. Other races were born except the trolls, one way or another because of the Titans and the curse of flesh. Night Elves exist because of the Titans. Humans, dwarves and gnomes exist because of the Titans. Blood Elves are High Elves and their ancestors were......Night Elves so....again Titans. I am still not sure what the %^&* Vulpera and Pandarens are doing and what is their place and origin. We are only told that they were slaves to the Mogu and to escape they had to learn the art of the Monk. Vulpera is just a meme at this point.Note: I did not mention Worgens because they are humans.......that were bitten recently. To that point they were humans. To me this whole plot of Titans are bad comes across that some people have problems with their parents. Especially the writers that want a plot leading that way. So, yes, long story short I hope Metzen will course correct this idiotic Titans=bad and if they still want to go with Titans are not good atleast dont make it to invalidate all the good they did.
Hah NERDS!
The Titans aren't *evil*. No one is saying that (not even Primalists!) but they DO believe that Order to the degree of the Titan's influence is corruptive at best and destructive at worst ... and they aren't wrong. The point that WoW seems to be heading to in general is that any force taken to their extreme is bad. Azeroth as a World Soul is more than likely so strong because of it's perfectly balanced nature: a Titan soul that was formerly corrupted by Void, structured by Order, carries the favored race of Life, invaded by Fel, contains the essence of Light, dominated by the harbinger(s) of Death, etc etc. Azeroth has it all and seemingly in a equal levels (depending on the year, lol.)But we've seen Death taken to an extreme and how bad that went. But Death has such a negative connotation that that's easy to make bad. We've gotten hints at Light with AU Yrel and Xe'ra and how that, too, can corrupt when taken to extremes. But now we get to see Order and how that system, when taken to too much of an extreme, is bad. How the desire for absolute perfection, absolute obedience, and absolute structure is ... not good. The Titans aren't evil per say, but they're absolutely dictators who's belief in their vision of the universe is the only way things can, and should, be.
