So basicaly this is something to fix Afrasiabi blunder and he tried to not be too evident about it... but in the end he was.
I'm really starting to feel like the people in here complaining really don't know their lore at all.To the comments about Sargeras being the big bad, yes, he was the big bad to us. But only because he was in the focus and we had the most contact with his crap (fel, the legion, etc.). People seem to be forgetting why he was a big bad, why he was going around doing all this stuff, because there was a bigger bad out there he was looking to "protect" existence from. Sargeras was a more a major symptom of the big bad, than being the big bad itself. Now as for the wrath gate, is it really too hard for you people to imagine that Sylvanas knew about the plans to bomb the wrathgate but allowed it to play out? Hell, even ordering it is something I could see her doing, because above all else she wants the Lich King dead. Nuking a bunch of Alliance and Horde soldiers in order to kill him sounds like something she has no issue doing, especially if her plan afterwords was to just off herself. As for the betrayal by Putriss and Vary, the chronicles even say that Sylvanas got out of that whole situation without having her head mounted on a wall by using "half-truths" to clear her name of both the wrathgate and the plague production. And it was hinted that she knew in advance about the planned betrayal, and if she knew about that, why wouldn't she know about the wrathgate attack? There isn't anything "coming out of nowhere" here. Blizzard are just now deciding to get off their asses and touch on story thread they left hanging years ago. Personally, I feel like this is them "taking care of Sylvanas." I really don't see how the story can move forward in any meaningful way without Sylvanas gone, or at least removed from the Horde completely. She was always a character that was going to have to be dealt with sooner or later, and it seems more and more like Blizzard has decided now is the time, and they are giving her a big spectacle before doing it.
the video in this post is horrifyingly terrible. like really, wtf
Well the Legion is done and dusted now, and the void is much less a mystery than it used to be - it's a lot clearer. That we are teetering on the brink of some new evil / darkness / magic is tantalising and exciting. It's not all sorted, there is yet another great darkness to come. I wouldn't be surprised if we actually go into the world of death. It seems kind of logical in a way. The Forsaken have been there, Bwondswami has his zone, the Valykerie could have another zone, Helya has already had a start. You know? All the different views on death in actual human history is in some ways a great new frontier. There is so much material there its an expansion in itself. I mean, in the game we don't reall yface death per se. We pop up at a spirit healer and jog back to our bodies. What if - for example - that run back the body was a lot more hazardous? What if you had to fight to get back to your body? I'm not predicting that in particular, just saying that the realms of death are a huge untapped idea, and Sylvanas and her over arching aim is all about death and/or avoiding it.
