It's actually really nice and refreshing to see a lot of these characters smiling and being happy rather than the usual grim determination. Obviously nothing wrong with that, and it's also present here, but it gives this nice welcoming glow to the art. They're also posed like they're actually posing for a portrait in universe, makes them come alive really nicely.
Wow, some of her pictures are stunning! I especially loved the Alliance paladin woman and the grey belf at the end :D <3Great work!^^
I enjoy that the illustrations are in WoW style whilst still being life like. The small details and expressions have a real life feel to them.
I and my wife are aesthetically minded, and love good art, great art even more so. I was pleased to be introduced to your gift through Wowhead. Just beautiful, and my bias toward WoW isn't biasing my opinion at all ;-). Seriously, I can't think of anything that would be more pleasing than to be able to present my wife with one of your portraits of her main character a Pandaren Female Mage. This woman is my hearts joy; and we play together on our Pandaren Mage and Monk as often as possible. I would find this to be a superlative and most beautiful addition to our game room where we play WoW!We were asked to say a few words about what we like about your works; I can only reply that Quality (with a capital Q) is beyond words, it is something appreciated and recognized by the spirit, not indirectly through symbolic references. All words fall short, aesthetic quality is only something that can be shared with those capable of experiencing it, not explained! Your works bring out the characteristics and spiritual essence of magical creatures to canvas.. thank you.
This looks so special because of realism. For example, human girl looks like he was sitting in studio and artist draw her portrait. But not only her, most of pics looks like they are from real world. My favorites are purpleheaded night elf (this face expression! <3 definitely have to be with "the Dreamer" title), blueheaded night elf with dragon and lightforged draenei lady (oh this smile! :3).
Not a particular picture, but all of them. I love how Naariels gives personality to every charactar, it gives them life of their own. So it combines awesome detail, colors and life (even in the undead ones XD). Also the first pictures seems an "elf" version of Cameron Diaz.
Awesome style. And so many different facial expressions. Not everyone is good at this. I especially love the smaller shots with the females with companions.
I'm always in awe of artists who can capture such vivid ideas. Don't get me wrong there are lots of people in this world that can do this and with great skill but its that extra soul that goes into a picture or painting.. That balance of happiness, the sort of artist that will keep placing lines on the canvas and erasing them until they are just perfect to capture that moment... That moment that you can see just by a quirky smile or extra frown line what emotion the artist wants you to feel. For me, it is this that sets your work apart from others. Beautifully captured feelings. A single moment in time.
I'm just in love with the little whelpling cuddled up on the night elf's shoulder. So adorable! I really love Naariel's style.
I haven't seen many artists that can do female Worgen properly. Kudos to you! All of your art is wonderful. <3
Overall, the artwork is amazing! It is definitely some of the best WoW artwork I've seen. The style seems to be simplistic; however, it is one that can still pop and draw attention to the piece itself. My favorite piece on display here though is certainly the redheaded human, reminds me of one of my toons quite a bit. Oddly enough my phone's lockscreen was the picture of that Draenei pally for quite some time, I had no clue it was by this artist, though.
Very cool style. Would like to see more Horde characters :).
I like the background and detail surrounding the character which give each painting a specific mood and overall feeling.
I really liked to female undead in undercity tabard. I have never thought that undeads can be pretty :)
All your pictures are awesome but I really love to tattooed female elf ;)
I really love the amount of detail and realism the artist brings to her illustrations. It is really inspiring to see what can be done to bring new life to our characters!
I love the attention to detail on all the faces, especially the profile portraits.
Ohh, wow! Naariel really has captured uniqueness in each and every one of her beautiful WoW characters here. I especially love the red-haired Alliance female. Love how Naariel said how there's thousands of us with the 'same' character, but to each of us ours is unique and special. She's really captured this. Just marvelous!
I love your work you are super talented if you chose my charter Vikinng i trust you to do what you think is cool
I love the thought put into your artwork! The worgen casually resting her hand in her tabard is incredible! (also all those fairy dragons <3 )
