Without doubt TBC. It still had a lot of the quirkiness of the original vanilla, hard raid instances that were still a challenge even with good gear and last but not least you needed to have good team play, not the *%(&% we're seeing too much of these days. Those were confined to 5 player dungeons. And the heroic dungeons... Those were REALLY heroic. Bloody hell :) No walk through even in good gear and a serious challenge while gearing up. Not the 15 mins <insert commercial here / average attention span of americans> but 1-2 hours.
To be honest, I was a late-comer. I didn't start playing until 09, took a break and continued in 2011. I've only got to play for two expansions, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria. If I had to choose by content that still exists in-game, it would clearly be Wrath of the Lich King. Wrath had the best content(and the best lore) within raids, and Northrend obviously. It brought the legendary one-hand mace Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings from Ulduar, and the undeniably great two-hand axe, Shadowmourne from Icecrown Citadel. However, if I were to base the expansion on legendaries alone, it would be The Burning Crusade. For it brought the Warglaives of Azzinoth, great for actually using, and RP'ing of course. But none of this actually matters, in fact. To me the best expansion that I actually played in, has to be Cataclysm. Only because it's only comparison is Mists. Cataclysm was the first expansion that I actually started raid progression, and some minor PvP. Although, Mists had some great raids, and some amazing lore and content. Cataclysm takes the gold medal from me.
Wrath of the Lich King all the way!
Cata was my favorite due to the raid finder addition, finally I got to do end of game content.
Burning Crusade was my favorite expansion! Now, it gives me such nostalgic feelings. I loved that I was able to play paladin on the Horde side. I created my blood elf paladin, and she has been my main ever since. Outland is such a beautiful place, especially Nagrand.
They've all been fun but I'd have to say TBC mainly for nostalgic reasons. We were all so excited for the first expansion and had a great time exploring new content.
My favorite was Mists of Pandaria :)
The Burning Crusade
Wrath of the Lich King was my favourite, I love the lore, northrend, and everything about it, and I play Death Knight :D
i love TBC Raids, i love WotLK Zones, i love Cataclysm Gears, i love MoP Storylines and WoD will be in progress ;)but my favorite is MoP xD
Burning Crusade, because that was epic and great, when I started playing, and there I met my current boyfriend ^__^
My favorite expansion is the Lich King because of the atmosphere and the Lich King fight.
Favourite expansion is TBC, I loved Outland and the variety of instances.
Wrath is my favorite with the addition of Death Knights, loved the factions, and it was just a great expansion pack overall, and I loved the lore.
The Burning Crusade is my favorite expansion. :)
most of my playing happened in TBC so thats still my favorite expansion and my new friends came from tbc aswell , some of them i know still in irl some i dont :)
Wrath of the Lich King was my favorite expansion.
TBC was my favourite expansion by far. Not only because it was the most fun, exciting and challenging expansion, but because I met my actual gf and future wife playing this expansion. We met at Isle of Quel'Danas, killing Alliance players at SW's door, and since then we had a lot of fun together and created a lot of good memories that will go along with us untill the day that we pass away. For all that reasons, TBC will be always my favourite expansion. God, I wish I could revive all the good memories and the fun that I had back then...
I started in Wrath Of The Lich King but i have to say Mists of pandaria was so peaceful and fun. Mists of Pandaria is my favorite, we´ll se if WoD can deliver something to! :)
The Burning Crusade has been my favorite expansion so far. Can't wait to get WoD though :)
