My favorite expansion is Wrath. It's mostly nostalgia goggles, since it's when I started playing the game (a week or so after 3.1 dropped, during the joint Noblegarden/Children's Week). But also, it seemed like it was the height of WoW's popularity, or at least, when it had the most subscribers. In addition, it just felt to me like a pinnacle of story telling. Vanilla didn't do much in the way of major story telling. TBC did a good amount of it, but Blizz was just getting the hang of how to do it in a ongoing serialized game format. Cata's storytelling was all over the place. And in MoP, they knew what they're doing really well, I just didn't care for the direction it took. I would have preferred staying in Pandaria and focusing on it and its problems instead of making at least half of the expansion about trouble at home. I wanted the Pandaria expansion, with all its beauty, to be ABOUT Pandaria, instead of Garrosh's big fat underbite. But Wrath. Oh man. The Wrathgate. Ulduar. ICC. Arthas popping up at every corner (some might even say too much) to toy with you, leaving you wondering each time if he'd let you go or if this would be the time he ended you. Mmm. So good.
God, I'm so torn between Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich king... I'd have to give that nod to Burning Crusade though. The feeling of going through that portal for the first time and finding a random blue drop that just blew away the purple I was wearing... The whole epic scope of Outland and the finale against Illidan was wonderful.
Overall, I'd give the edge to MoP. I really think Blizzard has honed their craft amazingly well and it continues to show in the content they deliver.
Mists of Pandaria!
Wrath of the Lich King! They were all good though.
I had the most fun playing with friends during Wrath of the Lich King, so it's my favorite.
TBC!
Hola, mi expansion favorita es the burning crusade y realmente me gustaria poder ganar una copia porfavor ! Hi, mi favorite expansion is "World of Warcraft: the burning crusade" and I really would like to win a copy please
Mists of Pandaria because of the large amount work that was done for the Lore.
Wrath of the Lich King
Wrath of the lich king! <3
I really love my Pandas, but BC will always be my favorite expansion.
I may just have rose-tinted glasses on but I LOVED wotlk, the story and game felt much more epic than it did in cata and pandaria! Love to get my warlords xpac for free, gl all
My favorite wow expansion was burning crusade for the only reason that back in the days things were still hard required attunement devotion not only geting the best gear in order to obtain boss kills... It was last real tanking expac where if you did a mess at tanking you couldnt save yourself with a taunt button
TBC was my favorite! I still love going back and clearing Kara.
As much as I love every expansion, in terms of pure activities and things to do, I would say Mists of Pandaria. It opened a lot of fun thing to do to waste time. The dailies and multiple factions to get rep with were more abundant then previous expansions, and a fully flushed out Looking For Raid system was a fun way to see the story, get some gear better then Dungeons, and bridge the sometimes intimidating gap between Heroic Dungeons and Raids. And of course, Pet Battles, the thing that consumed most my time with MoP. Such a fun system, and such a change of pace from the more hardcore raiding treadmill. I can't wait to tame and rarify every pet in Draenor, and hope I can break the 700 unique pet line.
I was going to say Burning Crusade, since Outland was my favourite locale...but I'd definitely have to go with Wrath of the Lich King. It wasn't until then that I really got active with my guild and went from knowing absolutely nothing about the game (I was using cloth healing gear on my feral druid) to becoming the guilds best AE healer and a member of the core group, that still exists on other platforms and games today. And now I think of it, this was all when I was around 13 years old. I was praised for buckling down and actually improving myself and playing through the blunt criticisms I got where others whined and quit, and it made me feel so accomplished. I spent so long playing during Wrath, levelling multiple characters, excited every single time that I'd get to help my guild by adding another role to my available jobs. I made a bunch of great friends and the experience really shaped me as a person later on in life, brought me out of my shell and really helped me succeed both socially and academically.I still go back and look through the hundreds upon hundreds of screenshots I took during that time, remembering all the hilarious screw ups in raids, messing around in the world and just generally having a fun time as a group. We still all talk, but we're too busy with life to really go back to how we used to. That said, a few of our core group has already resubbed and we're looking to get back into some raiding etc in time for WoD, so maybe we will get some of the gang back together along with some new faces.Yeah, I'm definitely gonna have to choose WotLK. While I'll find plenty of fun and memorable experiences through games, nothing will ever, ever match the joy of WotLK back when. We had a good run, Sythes. Can't wait to be back.
Obviously burning crusade. Going into hellfire peninsula for the first time was awesome. I also specifically recall getting crosseyed in the ghost town.
For me it was Burning Crusade, as that was when I was in a very good guild and it was the high point of my raiding career.
Wrath of the Lich King was my favourite. I made some amazing friends for life, and had so much fin raiding. I miss it.
