Dang, that's too much gold, glad there's alternative currencies that can be used!
do people still buy these? ever since they changed them and did this dumb upgrade thing i havnt touched them lol. Also way to late, i would imagine most people that wanted to level alts prob leveled half if not all by now lol. The things they do sometimes so weird lol.
They should implemented that at DF launch.A PL in DF is way more worth than the price of L70 heirlooms. And they forgot to add scouting map of BFA. We still have to go to BFA capitals, buy a token and sent it to our rerolls, unbelievable the process of it... But we have one for SL.
All 13 classes are at 70 and not once did I use heirlooms for the leveling process. Since the rework the heirlooms themselves are worthless and unvaluable. If you really want people to purchase the heirlooms, you need to drastically reduce the cost of the upgrade token OR Baseline the Heirloom to 50 with the ability to upgrade to 60 and 70 respectively. I do agree the 2 minute buff for the set is worthless. same goes for the weapons, neck, trinkets and rings. It makes absolutely no sense to spend 1200 timewalking tokens on an upgrade when people are buying the timewalking mounts if they dont have them.
Heirlooms drive token sales. That's it.
They should just turn all the Heirloom Items to go for whatever Cap they have at any given point. After the Leveling Changes, the points where you need to upgrade the Items have become completely arbitrary, as they have nothing to do with the Expansions any more.
They for sure need to rehaul heirlooms again. I know that the set bonus for reducing rested exp is more or (mostly) less than the old exp bonus per piece and I'm okay with that. What I want is just to finish the "set". Implement bracers, gloves, belt, and feet. Heirloom ranks/levels should only ever have two ranks, the first, default rank is "1 to whatever the previous expansion level cap is". For example, all heirlooms should currently be at rank 1 for levels 1-60. In the next patch we can spend gold to buy rank 2 which let's them go to 70 (which is already established). Then once Dragonflight is over and the next expansion is launched all heirlooms will automatically be adjusted so rank 1 is 1-70 (assuming the level cap is raised again). If you want to use heirlooms you can pay for the upgrade, and if you don't want to use them, you don't have to, or can wait until after the current expansion is over to save the gold/currency cost.No level restrictions on enchantments from previous expansions (no minimum ilvl or maximum ilvl gear). It looks like all of the old expansions will end up with a Chromie Time option, so, aside from the current expansion level restrictions, there shouldn't be any enchanment restrictions. For example the MoP shoulder enchants (from inscription) are still bis for shoulder heirlooms, but you can't even apply them to an item over a certain ilvl threshold even though MoP now scales to level 60, blasting past the old MoP ilvl cap.
All of nobody here is saying what a great system, much needed update, so excited to level my alts. That should tell you something you think? What’s this new “casing” going to cost per slot, per armor class? 10k?It’s a no from me, heirlooms are dead.
What is the point? If you level alts in timewalking dungeons during a darkmoon week overlapping, you can just stand the the merry-go-round and que into dungeons, it barely takes 2 hours to level from 60-70. Don't waste your gold or timewalking badges on upgrading heirloom gear, I didn't take back in WoD/Legion upgraded and unlocked all heirlooms to max level was around 200k-250k gold for each armor type+weapons+trinkets+rings+necks+cloaks and now they are all useless 2/5 no exp bonus gear.
Unless they gives us back the XP buff you got from using Heirlooms, now with the change in Dragonflight, there is no use for them. You can level from 60 to 70 ez with quest and and drop gear. Now if you lvl from scratch maybe but even then its not as useful as it once was for the cost you pay to upgrade them at this point unless you do it for nostalgia and have a ton of gold to waste
i last threw money out the window upgrading these for bfa and the scaling was absolutely busted. not only could the heirlooms not keep up with the azerite slots, which dont even have secondary stats, but also the non azerite slots had laughably low stamina compared to equal level quest rewards. i threw back on legion gear and was questing faster. together with the change to not give bonus xp anymore i stopped caring about heirlooms.
Back in the end of Legion when you could easily earn 10-100k a day doing WQs, these prices were okay I guess. Now? Way too many overpriced tokens.
