What the heck is the point of those profession FoS? They are only completable like 12 years ago but being added in now. Do we really need to add stuff like this in that is so long ago that it seems like someone is super bored in the dev department or a specific dev was like "I really feel like I deserve this achievement for something I did long ago and I want to make it for my account."
Man, and I got my hopes up thinking they were bringing back old content.
That is a lot of old expansion achievements that really dont mean much....i dont get why they would add this. From a developer point of view this is a lot of server load for zero gain or reason. You specifically design to avoid a huge hit to server resources because if the load is too much you can have other issues pop up. Thankfully it will be a single hit so they could probably just increase system resources for the patch deployment refresh the characters and have the processing finish before allowing people to log back in....but i just dont see why they are doing it.
I have a genuine question, why make a prof FoSes like 10+ years out from the last possible time you could do them? It’ll be hidden away from the general population that won’t even know what it is or how many patterns qualify to earn it. Look back the recent veilstrider FoS and people fumbling around on not knowing about it until blizz made a bluepost. While the rest of us knew about in April 2022 (patch 9.2.5 datamining) and/or had overachiever/krowi achievement addon to self-track.
Oh look, engineering gets forgotten again! RIP Goblin/Gnomish Engineers
To those wondering why they're adding these achievements; it's pretty clear. They plan on reintroducing previously removed items into the game once again, and to lessen the "WELL I HAD IT BEFORE IT WAS REMOVED" discourse that is inevitably going to rile some people up who did, in fact, achieve these things prior to their removal will still have some way of proving it.In effect, think of the hipster "I had these patterns before it was cool" mindset.
Added more text to the tooltip, but it's still called Famliar Skies.
As someone who did have an armorsmith and dragonscale LW back in the day I'm pleased to see these FOS being added. Recognition for the oldtimers is nice.
Recognition is nice, be fun to see if I get any because I don't remember if I did any of those or not XD
The ZG and Naxx ones make sense- they're adding ways to craft/obtain these items/recipes back into the game, and want to reward those that did it when it was current content with a nice feat of strength. But I don't quite get the point of the classic specialization ones. None of those recipes are locked anymore and haven't been for years. It just feels like throwing shiny achievements at people for no purpose rather than acknowledging those that did certain content was it current.
Perhaps they could be adding in some timewalking scenarios via Chromi where we go back in time to those events as crafters and we can learn those patterns if we missed out on them.
