It kind of needed to be kept a secret, the backlash of revealing it before it came out would have hurt Plunderstorms more than just suddenly releasing it and letting people immediately try it, rather than stew on it.That being said, I do think they should have added more to actual Retail to balance stuff out. Prior to the release of 10.2.6, I kind of thought the patch might add a new pirate themed questline to WoW Retail, maybe something to let us explore Kezan as pirates. Wasn't really expecting a separate gamemode that I can't bring my actual characters to. The secrecy and lack of transparency towards what was being added made the lack of Retail content pretty disappointing. Not that Plunderstorms are bad, that's up to the individual, but I was really hoping for something new to do in Retail, even if it was small.
In terms of "gameplay" and being different? Yeah its good.In terms of $15 for BR? hell no. The milktrain became obvious lately, and even the numbers could be high, asking for a sub to play it shows that between seasons there is nothing to do = lower numbers (except clowns who buy/bought 6-12month sub) so they want the unsubbed players to pay even 1 month. Disgusting af.I would like to try it, but I'd rather pay one month for season launch and complete it (aotc, keystone hero, without a system + fast gearing is almost annoyingly easy to do it) than waste money on a WoW br.
It would be much more exciting to resub knowing that I've got the rewards waiting after playing f2p plunderstorm. Fly over to the hearthstone inn in stonetalon and kill some rares for the hearthstone cosmetics And talk some rubbish with other people sharded there, without feeling like I'm forced to feel like I'm missing out for not playing. I've been playing for over half my life, chill. I don't play seasonal content really so it's no different for me from my sub perspective
This is just Fortnight with wow skins it is not for me if it is for you great.
Garbage and waste of dev time.
Good feature, they should not buff the plunder gain because some neckbeards only wanna have the mounts / pets, it ruins the gameplay. It's a videogame and if you don't like it don't play it.
With the hotfixes it got regarding powers and plunder gains, I actually enjoy it a lot !It's just a little sad the patch brought NOTHING to do on the DF spectrum :( (except 2 big achievements, that i'm finishing tomorrow)
It shouldn't have been a secret. It should have had a beta. It has a beta quality. The mode shouldn't burn in the Firelands. But It needs a serious amount of polish. My biggest issue with it is that the win depends so much on your start and rng. Dropping at the right place and luckily without people to reach max level is so important to have a chance to win. It is easily becoming unenjoyable when more than one person drop at the same place. Fighting and ending the match at lvl 1 because 10 poeple landed on the same place is not enjoyable.Lvling is only happening at the start of the game. When everything dies, you are doomed to stay at lvl 6-7 and die to those lucky enough to reach 9-10.How you fix the problem? Make it 40 people instead of 60 and have mobs and treasures respawn. It is much better when you survive into the later phases and much more enjoyable when you fight people with the same level. But it's thw rare case this ever happens and that's just sucks and drains the fun out of this mode.
I don't like it at all. If I wanted PvP there are BGs, Rated BG, Arena, wPvP
It was a cool idea, but i unfortunately got bored incredibly quick, a good one day of content though
I've had fun with it. I'm not super grinding it, but it's fun to play with friends. I get two ranks a day, then move on to other things. Most people are playin it, and it is funny to read the negative comments. To be fair, they've complained about everything since vanilla. Misery loves company, and comment sections gives them a soapbox.
Bad. I'm happy that I finished that grind. As a pet collector I was forced to do this. And I hate PvP in WoW.
